Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour Stock Car Championship series will be headed to Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, NH for a 150-lap feature this Saturday, June 15. It will be ACT’s first return to the track since 2005.
The fast 1/3-mile has been host to six different winners in the 6 ACT events held there between 1997 and 2005. With a championship battle full of new faces, drivers are excited about the opportunity.
“This is another one of a handful of new tracks on the Tour for us this year,” said second-place point runner Jimmy Hebert. “I still feel confident. Everywhere we’ve unloaded the car has been great. This has been the most fun I’ve ever had racing,” he finished.
Hebert currently enjoys a 15-point edge over reigning ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr. While Hebert will be making his first ACT start at Canaan, Helliwell won an incredible 14 times at the track in 2012 on his way to the Late Model Championship.
“Obviously we feel good about coming here,” said Helliwell. “But the competition on this Tour can’t be overlooked. We’ve just got to stick to the basics and go out there and get the job done,” he finished.
Ray Parent will look to continue his consistent start to the year along with veteran Brent Dragon, who currently ride fourth and fifth respectively on the Tour. Steuben, ME’s Rowland Robinson, Jr. will try to ride his momentum to surprise the veterans after leading the first 29 laps of his ACT career in the rain-postponed race at Groveton, NH’s Riverside Speedway.
The ACT 150 at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, NH will roll off this Saturday, June 15. Post time is 5pm.
