Granite Mini Sprinters Visit Big Daddy’s Speedbowl
It was a busy night at Big Daddy’s Speedbowl on Rt. 25 in Wentworth.
There were two features left from the previous week, and the track
played host to the Granite State Mini-Sprints club. The Mini Sprinters
with their motorcycle engine-based winged sprint cars made their first
of four appearances at Big Daddy’s. You can learn more about these
great race cars at www.GraniteStateMiniSprint.org
.

The evening began with the Camaro Heaven Bandit division competing for
their left-over NAPA of Tilton trophies from the previous week. Marcus
“Animal” Jenness (19) took top honors, followed by Scott Blake (21)
and Alicia Smith (88). Alicia and Marcus are brother and sister.

The OE Parts Direct Mini Stocks division feature was next. Josh Sunn
(11) Leon Dugan (71) and Corey Dugan (71x) were the top three
finishers.

The Mini-Stocks also had the first feature for the Barton’s
Performance trophies, with Josh Sunn taking his second feature win of
the evening. Kevin Harran (57) was second and Matt Morrill finished
third.

The 500cc Mini Sprint cars were next on the card. Larry Sheridan (6)
was the winner, followed by Lacey Hansen (33) and Josh Boissoneau
(02).

The Bandits were next up, with Marcus Jenness also going two-for-two
on the evening. He and Jacob Williams (73) battled wheel to wheel for
several laps before the end. Williams had to settle for second, with
Scott Blake getting his second top-three of the evening.

The Mini Sprint Club brought out their 600cc division next. Brian Gray
(3V) took the top prize, with Dave “Lowbed” Johnson (12) in second and
Richard Crooker (21) third.

The Cutting Edge Graphix/Keyser Trucking Super Streets had a wild
feature, which was won by Ray Johnson (79). Mark Brown (47) was the
only other car to finish on the lead lap. After extensive comparison
of their notes the official scorers determined that Jeff Manion (61)
finished in third.

In the Mike’s Automotive Late Models Brad Shanks in number 8 Dirt
Track Cadillac got his third consecutive first-place trophy. Jamie
Bezanson (13) was second and Ray Johnson, racing his number 79 Super
Street that had just won the Super Street division, took third.

The final event of the evening was the Mid-State Trucking V8
Modifieds. In the opening laps it was a battle of the Daves, with “Mad
Trucker” Dave Heath and “Dynamite” Dave Sanville battling for the
lead, but competition at the front was stiff, and before long “Flyin'”
Ryan Avery got his 01 car to the front. “Racin'” Jason Sanville (96)
and Chad Turck (56) took second and third.

This coming week’s races feature all 5 regular divisions in
competition. Big Daddy’s weekly divisions are the Camaro Heaven
Bandits, OE Parts
Direct Mini-Stocks, the Cutting Edge Grafix and Keyser Trucking Super
Streets, Mike’s Automotive Outlaw Late Models, and Mid-State Trucking
Modifieds.
