Hudson NH – Ron Bolduc won his third Outlaw Sportsman feature of the 2010 racing season on August 8th 2010 at Hudson International Speedway. Prerace activities included a reenactment of Outlaw driver Peter Fiandaca’s induction to the NEAR Hall of Fame emceed by John Spence and driver intros. Once racing started Fiandaca quickly took the lead from the third starting spot and held it until the 1/3rd mark of the thirty lap event when Bolduc got past him. Bolduc was in command of the race from that point on. Geoff Rollins got past Fiandaca to finish second but wasn’t a threat to Bolduc. Fiandaca finished third followed by Tim Casey, Keith Walton, Mitch Wendell, Kevin Kephardt, Joey Ventrillo, Shawn Waites and Matt Robinson.

John Cashman snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in the Rookie Stock feature. Cashman started on the pole and led the first nineteen laps of the race. Andy Nichols had run second most of the race but slowly lost ground to Cashman. Keith Ennis got past Nichols as the laps wound down and gained on Cashman. Going into turn one on the final lap with Ennis stalking him, Cashman’s car slipped and eventually spun off turn two allowing Ennis to get past him and win his second main of the year. With only one car out of the race and all the rest still on the lead lap Cashman fell all the way to 16th place, second to last in the rundown. Last weeks winner Chris Augevitch also got past Nichols for second place. Nichols finished third followed by Heath Tourtellotte, John Morin Jr., Mitch Wendell, Jerry Lepage, Dan Murphy Jr., Eric Hoffman and Roland Leplante.

Matt Lombardi led the first five circuits of the Roadrunner feature before Dave Helliwell took over. Helliwell led until last season’s Roadrunner champ Louie Maher got past him. The final third of the race saw those two nose to tail with Helliwell doing all he could to get past Maher but Maher ran flawlessly and past under the checkers a half a car length in front of Helliwell. Helliwell finished second. Johnny Reefer had a fine run and garnered his first podium finish of the year in third place. Last weeks winner Jason Carroll finished fourth followed by Jef James, Erik Miller, Derek Griffith, Myles Devits, Lombardi and Mark Dunklee.

Chad Wendell continued his dominance in the Thunder Light division. Wendell started last in the field and by the end of the second lap had taken over the top spot. The battle was for second from that point on between Jarrod Soucy and Sammy Gilman. Soucy was making his first career start in the VW Rabbit that his dad Don Soucy drove in the Roadrunners. Soucy and Gilman battled for many laps with Soucy making his Rabbit as wide as he could. Gilman dove under Soucy coming off the fourth turn with the checkers in sight but was only able to get to Soucy’s drivers door as the two crossed the line. Nick Fissette finished fourth followed by Carlos Esquivel and Jenna Randell.
