Hudson NH – Ron Lord Jr. won the final Outlaw Sportsman feature of the 2010 racing season on Oct.10 at Hudson International Speedway. Lord was the pole sitter and led from green to checker but it wasn’t an easy win for Lord as he had to fight off the divisions top guns on restart after restart early in the going as there was a bad case of yellow fever in the first half of the race. All the racers settled down by the halfway point and things went green until the end. Sandy Lee was right on Lords bumper the entire race but wasn’t able to make anything happen and came home second. Geoff Rollins finished third followed by Kevin Kephardt, Tom “the Bear Hunter” Tombarello, Pete Fiandaca, Shaun Waites, Matt Robinson, Ronnie Robinson and Pete Jarek. Lord and Lee won the heats.

Geoff Rollins was crowned 2010 Outlaw Sportsman Champion with his third place finish. Rollins just needed to start the feature race to clinch the title. Rollins was the picture of consistency with ten top 5 finishes in the ten races that the Outlaw Sportsman ran at Hudson International.

Two time Rookie Stock champion Scotty Duval won his second Rookie Stock main of the 2010 season. Duval spent most of the season driving like Betty White but has picked it up in recent weeks with a win on Labor Day also. Slika was in Duval’s tire tracks the whole race but couldn’t get his racecar “Gertrude the Destroyer” past Duval and had to settle for second. Steve Dickey was knocking on Slika’s door in the closing laps and finished third. John Morin got outside of Dickey with two laps to go but couldn’t make it stick and finished fourth. Corrie Merritt was sideways down the straights with his right rear tire smoking every lap and finished fifth. Andy Nichols finished sixth followed by Dean Wendell, Rolande Laplante, Chris Jacobson, and Dan Murphy Jr. Duval and Nichols won the heats.

Meegan Lord led the opening laps of the Thunder light main. Nick Fissette got to Lord and spent a few laps outside of her and finally cleared her a few laps later. Jarrod Soucy was on the move and got to Fissette with two laps to go. Soucy wasted little time making a move and going onto turn three he dove under Fissette and by the time they came around to take the white flag Soucy was well on his way to his second win in a row and third win in the last four weeks. Fissette held on for second and Chad Wendell was third followed by Lord, Kordell Colon, Sammy Gilman, Carlos Esquivel and John Daughenbaugh. Fissette won the heat.

Hollywood Helliwell picked up his sixth feature win and twelfth straight top 5 in the Roadrunners since his debut in July. Loren Smith Jr. had the lead most of the race but Helliwell was stalking him as laps dwindled down. A late race caution bunched the field for a restart and Smith Jr. was able to hold off Helliwell for a few laps. With two to go Helliwell got a run off turn two and slipped past Smith Jr. and went on to win. Johnny Reefer also got past Smith Jr. for second. Smith Jr. finished a disappointing third. Jef James was fourth followed by Jason Carroll, Derek Griffith, Nick Maniatis, Louie Maher, Tony Page and Jim Fissette. James and Smith Jr. won the heats.

Ron Lord Jr. won the Spectator Drags and Artie Conealias won the Flagpole Race.
