Monster Trucks Coming to Airborne

South Plattsburgh, NY – Airborne Speedway has announced it will present a pair of Monster Truck events Sunday, May 29 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Monster Trucks already confirmed include Iron Warrior, Rap Attack, Illuminator and Mike Vaters’ Black Stallion, which stands 11 feet tall, is 12 feet wide, weighs 9500 lbs and packs 1500 HP.

Vaters, from Hagerstown, MD, is a seven-time United States Hot Rod Association (USHRA) Thunder Nationals champion, a six-time Canadian Monster Spectacular champion and the 2010 Monster Truck Promoter of the Year.

The Monster Truck event includes Supercross Motorcycle jumps and a Jet 4-Wheeler powered by a GE T-58-3 jet propulsion engine that produces 25-foot flames.

Rap Attack, billed as a orange and green “tribal monster” is owned and driven by David Rappach of Vienna, Ohio. More information is available at vatersmotorsports.com and rapattackracing.com.

Airborne has a five-division race card set for Saturday, May 28 at 6 p.m. highlighted by a 50-lap, $500-to-win Renegade event. Camping space is available at the track and the first 50 campers will be allowed to camp for free.

Advanced sale tickets, available through Friday, May 27, are $15/adults, $3/kids 6-12. Tickets at the gate are $17/adults, $5/kids 6-12 while supply lasts. The rain date is Monday, May 30. For additional information, call 518-561-3208
