Hudson NH –The Outlaws made their first appearance of the 2011 racing season with defending Outlaws Champion Geoff Rollins picking up the first feature win. Ricky Woodside Jr. held the top spot early in the race before relinquishing it to Ron Lord. Lord held on for a few laps until Rollins chased him down. Rollins spent a lap or two on the high side of Lord, slipped past and wasn’t challenged from that point on.

Fourteen year old Derek Griffith from Hudson N.H. had a fantastic run going until trouble found him. Griffith started last in the field in his first ever Outlaw feature and made his way all the way up to second before a cut tire put him into the wall bringing out the only caution of the race in the closing laps.

Following Rollins were Lord, Dean Wendell, Woodside Jr., Griffith, Jay Maki, Stan Maki, Todd Warren, Punchy Blaney and Matt Bowsowski.

Meegan Lord led opening laps of the Thunder Light feature until Jarrod Soucy passed her and went on to win his first feature of 2011. Lord finished second and defending Thunder Light Champion Chad Wendell came home third. Carlos Esquivel finished fourth.

Corrie Merritt won the Rookie Stock main followed by Slika Ennis and Dan Murphy. The battle behind the top three was intense with lots of bumping and rubbing and several drivers spinning to the infield. Two time Rookie Stock Champion Scotty Duval was fourth followed by Bill Fiske, Jerry Lepage, Billy Clement Jr., John Morin Jr., Scott Thomson and Mike McCue.

Jason Carroll won the Roadrunner feature starting fourth and leading most of the race. Eric Miller made a late charge and got to Carrolls bumper in turn one on the final lap but couldn’t get any closer than that and followed Carroll across the stripe. After losing an engine last week Jef James returned with a solid third place run. Fourth through tenth were Johhny Reefer, Nick Fissette, Louie Maher, Rex Carrs, Kevin Dunklee, Scott Dunklee and Jen Lord.

“Bobbo” Williams won the Spectator Drags. John Nicholson won the Spectator Race and Ricky Barrocco won the Flagpole Race.
