CODY, TALK ABOUT YOUR NIGHT.

“Everybody got kind of fanned out a little bit, and the field was really close. It was hard to get through the field fast, because everyone was so close (in speed). I just hung out in Top-10. There weren’t a lot of yellows, so there wasn’t a lot of opportunity to gain on things.

“When (crew chief) Robbie (Harrison) got car on the trailer, he noticed the right front was flat. With about 40 laps to go, I made a little contact with someone else and the car started getting tighter and tighter and tighter. All night, we were just eating people up getting into the corners, but we were not able to carry speed off the corners. That kind of explained it.

“It was a wild couple of last laps. Guys were four-wide, and I drove in as deep as I could. I managed to get a couple more spots that way, so it was good.”

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE RECENT MOMENTUM YOU’VE HAD?

“It was a good points night for us. Alex (Bowman) fell out, Chase (Elliott) fell out again, and (Sergio) Pena, too. Some top guys fell out toward the end and that helped out in the points a lot for us. The rookie points are getting to be really tight, too. The battle for that Rookie of the Year spot is going to come down to the last couple of races, so every little bit we can get is huge for us right now.”
