(Waterford, CT) – Ray Parent and the #17 Amtrol Sponsored Ford Fusion visited The Waterford Speedbowl for the first time and come away with a Top-5 finish in 30-lap Late Model Feature.
Parent of Tiverton, RI was near Boston, MA on his way up to Oxford Plains Speedway, thinking about trying a few different things to get that Amtrol Sponsored #17 Ford Fusion into the main event, when the phone rings; the person on the other end says, “Oxford Plains Speedway has been postponed, due to weather”
Ray and crew were all ready for an action packed day of racing, so the crew did some local weather radar checking and turned around the hauler and decided to visit a track that Ray has wanted to visit for while, The Waterford Speedbowl, in Waterford, Connecticut.
They arrived at the track, completed their pre-race checks and after the first round of practice, they knew they needed to change a few things. They decided on a gear and spring change. Parent says, “We started eighth in our heat race and worked our way up to third. Then in the 16 car Feature, we again started eighth and got all the way up to third before at around lap 15, the car got very tight through the corners.”
Ray and crew ended up finishing a solid fifth and went on to say, “We are very pleased with our performance here at Waterford and we definitely look forward to returning next Saturday night for the Waterford 300 Weekend”
