O’Donnell and Morris Split Late Model Double Features
Barre, VT – Thunder Road’s racing action got under way on Thursday night (August 14) with the remainder of the previously postponed final 47 laps of last week’s 26 car Cody Chevrolet Late Model feature. North Haverhill, NH’s Derrick O’Donnell picked up the win and unofficially took over the point lead in his quest to repeat as Thunder Road’s “King of the Road.” The final event of the night saw Jim “Boomer” Morris score his first career win in the Late Models in their regular 50-lap event after apparent winner Jason Allen was disqualified in post race technical inspection due to failing ACT’s board test, which checks for coil binding in the suspension.
In the first feature of the night, O’Donnell got around Lance Allen and cruised to the win. Lance Allen was followed across the line by Joey Laquerre, Shawn Fleury and John Donahue in the top five. Morris, Josh Demers, Brooks Clark, Nick Sweet and Brett Gervais rounded out the top ten.

Dana DiMatteo Setting the Pace in Legend Cars Return to Stafford Speedway
(Stafford Springs, CT)—During the winter months, Stafford Motor Speedway announced that it was bringing Legend Cars racing back to its weekly program for the first time since the 1994 season. With the Legend Cars returning to Stafford’s mini-mile, it raised the question of who would be the car to beat. That question was answered early in the season by Farmington native Dana DiMatteo, who finished second and first in the first two races of the year. Since those first 2 races DiMatteo has gone on to record podium finishes in each of his five starts this season and he holds a 10-point lead over second generation driver Mike Christopher, Jr.

No Victory Guaranteed as Summer Winds Down at Devil’s Bowl Speedway
Parity prevailing in weekly NASCAR divisions; NEAR antique racers to visit Friday
WEST HAVEN, VT – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has been the site of more surprise moments during the summer of 2014 than at perhaps any other point in its 48-year history. While past seasons have seen one or two drivers dominate a particular division, nothing seems to be guaranteed this year.
Parity has ruled the Rutland County track during weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events. Through 13 feature races for the headline Bond Auto Parts Modified division, nine different drivers have carried the checkered flag. Twenty year-old Cody Sargen broke into the winner’s circle last Friday, joining Jason Durgan and Johnny Scarborough as first-time winners during the year. Veterans Todd Stone, Ron Proctor, Leon Gonyo, and Vince Quenneville, Jr., have won, as have up-and-comers Jessey Mueller and Joey Roberts.

Harrison Burton Looking For More In PASS Return To South Boston
CHARLOTTE, NC (August 13) – Throughout the stock car racing fraternity, there are families that are synonymous with certain speedways. That is certainly the case with the Burton family and South Boston Speedway. Jeff Burton and his older brother Ward honed their skills at their hometown track throughout the late 80’s and early 90’s as they began their ascent up the racing ladder. Likewise, Ward’s son, Jeb, was a staple in the track’s Late Model Stock division in recent years and has since moved on to the Truck Series. On Saturday night, Jeff’s 13-year-old-son, Harrison will continue the family tradition as he competes with the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model division in the South Boston 150.
