Mueller Rebounds With a Big Win at Devil’s Bowl Speedway
Fisher, McCarron, Donahue in winner’s circle
WEST HAVEN, VT – Jessey Mueller made a big statement at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday, June 20. The Olmstedville, NY teenager rebounded from a disqualification just five days earlier, then drove from last place on the starting grid to win the 30-lap Bond Auto Parts Modified event presented by 105.3 Cat Country. Joining Mueller as NASCAR Whelen All-American Series feature winners on the night were Jamie Fisher, Stephen Donahue, and John McCarron. Two weeks after getting his driver’s license, 16-year old Manchester, Maine resident Reid Lanpher achieved a lifelong dream when he races in the Pro Series at Beach Ridge Motor Speedway. A stout field of 29 Pro Stocks arrived at the Ridge to compete in the opening event of 2014 for the NASCAR All American Series.
Lanpher, a sophomore at Maranacook High School, was required to start at the rear of his 14 car heat due to his rookie status. In 12 laps, the Jason Ricker prepared, EZ Hauler Trailers, EJP Racing, Eastern Township Docks Chevy Monte Carlo SS passed 11 cars to grab a 3rd place finish which set up a 6th place starting position for the 50 lap final.

Jessie Mueller Wins Second Straight Modified Event at Thunder Road
Barre, VT – Barre’s own Jason Corliss scored his first career Thunder Road Late Model win in the 52nd running of the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic. Corliss stole the win with a last lap pass of multi-time Thunder Road Champion Nick Sweet in a photo finish of the first Vermont State Late Model Championship event of the year.
Sweet led every step of the way during the first 99 laps of the caution free 100 lap event. The hometown favorite rode the much favored high lane as he lapped the majority of the field. Sophomore driver Corliss and Cody Blake caught Sweet in the final 10 laps as they worked heavy lap traffic. Corliss got by Blake but couldn’t find the grip to get around Sweet. With the white flag flying, Corliss made a last ditch effort as he threw his Burnett Scrap Metals Ford Fusion to the low lane.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Due to a rainy forecast, Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that tonight’s Late Model / DARE Stock Xtra Mart Xtra D program has been postponed. The Late Model 60-lap feature, SK Light 22-lap feature, and DARE Stock 20-lap feature events will now move to Friday, May 30th to create a super night of extra distance racing. In addition to the Late Model, SK Light, and DARE Stock divisions, the Limited Late Models will also be racing an extra distance feature that night while the SK Modifieds® and Legend Cars will race their usual 40 and 20-lap feature events. May 30th is also Military Appreciation Night and anyone with a valid military I.D. will receive an adult general admission ticket for only $10.
With the four extra distance events on the May 30th card, there will be plenty of extra cash up for grabs for Stafford’s drivers and teams. Thanks to Xtra Mart Convenience Stores, the Late Models will split $1,000 among the top-5 finishers, the Limited Late Models will split $500 among the top-5 finishers, and the DARE Stocks will split $250 among to the top-5 finishers. The SK Lights will have $450 to split among the top-3 finishers thanks to RH2way Radios.
