Championship showdown now set for Saturday, October 27
WINCHESTER, NH — Seventeen Granite State Pro Stock Series cars were prepared to determine the first JBH 100 winner before unfavorable conditions forced Monadnock Speedway management to postpone the event until Saturday, October 27.
The JBH 100, which has been unfortunately postponed four times since its original August 4th date, is held in memory of late Granite State Pro Stock Series co-founder John Hoyt, who unexpectedly passed away last year. The JBH 100 will be the final race in the 2012 Granite State Pro Stock Series season.

In the 100 lap marathon known as the Pro Stock main, W. Boylston’s Derek Ramstrom went on and introduces himself to Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane at the historic 1/3 mile oval. Dave Darling jumped from his third starting position into the lead before lap one was complete, and held on through the first 27 laps until he ran over some debris under caution and cut down a right rear tire, handing the lead over to Ramstrom. Once out front, Ramstrom, who was biding his time over the early laps, never looked back.
With Derek setting the pace, the action was going on behind him. Craig Weinstein ran second for much of the middle portion of the event, with Mike Brightman behind. They ran that way until Darling worked his way back through the field into second on the 53rd lap. He shadowed the leader, but could not get close enough to make a challenge. Over the last quarter of the event, Dick Houlihan was able to make up for some lost time, and moved into the second spot, where he followed Ramstrom across the line. Darling finished third with Brightman and Elmer Wing fourth and fifth.

Plattsburgh, NY – Dover, NH’s Wayne Helliwell, Jr. won the battle and the war, grinding to the victory in the Rent-A-Wreck Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Speedway on Sunday, October 7 and unofficially earning his first American Canadian Tour Championship. He held off a late charging Austin Theriault, and 2012 Serie ACT Castrol Champion Patrick Laperle for the clutch victory.
Second-place point man Brian Hoar and Helliwell started nose to tail to start the feature that ran the first 49 laps without a caution. Helliwell had worked his way to the front earning a five point bonus for leading a lap, while Hoar stalked him through the field. When a second caution came out on lap 62, Hoar showed his hand, ducking into pit road for fresh tires and falling to the back of the pack.
