Kenny Spencer breaks 2 year winless drought in Pro Stock Action. Jeramee Lillie wins 3rd LM feature. Gerard Berthelette picked up first Sam’s Club Street Stock win. Lenny Guy grabs first Sport Truck win.
Kenny Spencer of Taunton jumped out front on the opening lap of the 40 lap Pro Stock feature and never looked back as he picked up his first win in over 18 months at Seekonk Speedway. With Spencer out front, the field behind was jockeying for position. Kyle Casper of Somerset sat in the runner up position, following the Janine’s Machine around the 1/3 mile oval, trying to hold off the challenges of Tom Scully Jr.
Ryan Vanasse was working the outside lane, and moved into the third spot on a lap eight caution, and started to challenge Casper for second, but started to slide back on the outside, but settled in and followed the lead duo until Dick Houlihan slid underneath and took over the third position. With just two weeks remaining in the VIP Thursday Thunder Series for the Amsoil Nelcar Legends Tour, many different drivers were still looking to break into Victory Lane and time was running out. The driver victorious tonight however has had his share of victories and championships in his career. The 21 car field took to the racetrack as the final event of another exciting night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, and another great show was in the making.
On the pole was another veteran of the Tour, Chad Harrington behind the wheel of car 46 with the 2 of sophomore driver Ryan Hammar on the outside of the front row. Sweet, Pembroke tied for lead entering final round on September 16
Devil’s Bowl Speedway will be the site of the first Vermont State Late Model Championship Series celebration in a quarter-century on Sunday, September 16. The 100-lap finale for the renewed four-round stock car championship will be part of a new tradition at the West Haven track – the “Vermont 200” weekend – which also features a 100-lap event for the track’s weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Bond Auto Parts Modified division.
Brought back in 2012 after a 25-year hiatus, the Vermont State Championship Series pits the very best Late Model stock car teams from the fast, progressively-banked Devil’s Bowl half-mile and the high-banked, quarter-mile bullring at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in Barre, VT against each other to crown an overall champion. A total of 44 drivers have attended the first three events, including invaders from New York, New England, and eastern Canada. (more…)
