DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth claimed their positions on the second row for Sunday’s 54th annual Daytona 500 with wins in their respective Gatorade Duel at Daytona qualifying races at historic Daytona International Speedway.
Stewart’s win in the first Gatorade Duel was his third in the Daytona 500 qualifying races and 17th overall on the 2.5-mile tri-oval moving him ahead of racing legend Bobby Allison to take sole possession of second place on DIS’s all-time victory list. Stock division and a championship winning season in the Wild Thing Kart
Senior Outlaw division, David Arute will make the move into the Limited Late
Model division for the 2012 season at Stafford Motor Speedway. After making
his DARE Stock debut in 2010 with one top-10 finish in 5 starts, Arute
flourished in 2011, posting 7 top-5 and 16 top-10 finishes in 17 starts.
Arute’s numbers were good enough to place him 7th in the final DARE Stock
points standings despite the fact that he missed 2 races. The prospect of
moving up a level in competition has the high school senior looking forward

(Stafford Springs, CT)—While there are many drivers at Stafford Speedway
who will either be making their debuts or switching divisions for the 2012
season, Corey Hutchings will remain in the Late Model division, but be
racing for a new team. After two seasons behind the wheel of Billy Snow,
Sr.’s #87 car, Hutchings will sit behind the wheel of the #36 owned by Barry
Fluckiger. While Hutchings will return to the car number that he is
synonymous with, he will be joining a new team in hopes of chasing down his

After a protest by other teams Ted Christopher refused a tear down and was DQ’ed from his win on Tuesday night at New Smyrna Speedway (FL). TC will pack up for the week as Chuck Hossfeld picked up his first win on Smyrna Speedweeks.

Stafford Motor Speedway, Glen Reen returned to Stafford’s SK Modified®
division in 2011 driving the #21 owned by Don Silberman. Josh Sylvester
drove Silberman’s #21 to Rookie of the Year honors in 2010 and Reen took the
car’s performance to an even higher level in 2011, finishing 6th in the
points standings with 6 top-5 and 12 top-10 finishes in 18 starts. As good
as the 2011 season was for Reen and the Silberman crew, Reen says that the
