Team Southside/Polaris proudly announces 2011-2012 Roster
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – With winter quickly approaching and the sleds coming together, Team Southside is proud to announce their rider lineup for the 2011-2012 ECS racing season.
In what was literally the 11th hour, the deal was finalized to bring Wisconsin native Dylan Martin to Team Southside on the East Coast. Dylan will be a great asset for the team both on and off the track. With a history of great results on the track, he is known all over as one of the great snocross racers.

Naples ME (11/7) Pro All Stars Series racers, teams, sponsors and fans packed the Howard Johnson’s Conference Center in Westbrook Maine Friday evening to celebrate the 2011 season, a festive night of awards, food and socializing.
Mike Mayberry filled in for series President Tom Mayberry at the podium, kicking off the ceremony with the Presidents special recognition awards. The PASS Mods Sportsmanship award was presented to Alan Wilson; Sumner Sessions received the Hard Luck Award and the Most Improved driver of 2011 was Dana Reed. The PASS Sportsman were up next and Donnie Morse earned the Sportsmanship Award, the Hard Luck driver was Shane Tatro and Craig Smith was Most Improved. Alex Gingras earned the title of Most Improved driver in the PASS North Super Late Model series, Joey Doiron was recognized for the Hard Luck he experienced in 2011 and Maritime racer Matt Matheson earned the Super Late Model Sportsmanship award. Office Depot/Mobil 1 Driver Inches Closer to Chase Lead with Dominating Victory at Texas

Winner: Tony Stewart of Stewart-Haas Racing (Chevrolet)
A week ago, Tony Stewart snared a race win from five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson with a dramatic late-race pass at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, then promptly served notice in victory lane to Carl Edwards – the Chase for the Sprint Cup point leader – that he better be worried over the final three races of the season.
With his second-consecutive victory in Sunday’s AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, the actions by Stewart and his No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 team spoke even louder than his words at Martinsville.

New Rookie of the Year program announced for East Coast Snocross series,

Top rookie and points champion to receive cash purse
CHESHIRE, Conn. – Everybody knows that young snowmobile racers are a competitive bunch, always trying to outdo each other in qualifying, finals and just about everything else they do both on and off the track.
Officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) have created a “race within a race” for first-year riders in the Pro division, as the new ECS Rookie of the Year (ROTY) program is initiated. The top rookie (combining points from Stock and Open) will receive a cash purse at season’s end, while the top Pro rider earning the most points overall will also earn a cash purse.

FORT WORTH, Texas—Tony Stewart backed up his smack talk with a convincing victory in Sunday’s AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, the eighth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
With his fourth victory in the Chase and the 43rd of his career, Stewart put a dent in runner-up Carl Edwards’ series lead, scoring maximum points (48) to trim Edwards’ advantage from eight to three points with two races left in the season.
After winning last week at Martinsville, Stewart promised Edwards a sleepless three weeks during the stretch run for the title. On Sunday afternoon, Stewart let his car do the talking, taking the lead from Edwards on a Lap 275 restart and coming back to the front through a cycle of green-flag pit stops late in the race.
