BEZEMA MOTORS TO WELCOME FANS AND OTHERS TO THE 7TH ANNUAL NORWOOD ARENA REUNION ON SUNDAY, JUNE 5, 2011

NORWOOD, MA. In three weeks, the 7th Annual Norwood Arena Reunion will take place on Sunday, June 5, at Bezema Motors on US Rt. 1 in Norwood, Mass., the Auto Mile. Every year this event has become a focal point for those fans who, years ago, lined up at the ticket booth to get their weekly dose of racing action. In fact it was so exciting that rainouts caused much disappointment for those who were caught up in the racing wars at the 1/4-mile bullring between Modified greats such as Bill Slater, Bugs Steven, Pete Hamilton, Jack Malone and Leo Cleary among others. Many of these daredevils went onto great heights including Hamilton of Newton, who won the 1970 Daytona 500. He was the first of a few New Englanders who made it into big-time NASCAR action.

NAPLES ME (5/17) The thunder will roll Saturday evening when the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late models kick off White Mountain Motorsports Park’s 2011 racing season, a track that’s a favorite stop for PASS racers and race fans alike.

The smooth and fast high banked quarter mile will celebrate its eleventh year on the PASS North schedule in 2011 and fans can count on another bull ring barn burner when the first green of the North Woodstock NH speedway’s season flies 4:00 PM .

NEMST – Star Speedway Recap

While the weather was not near as nice as opening day at Beech Ridge the Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour rolled into the newly reopened Star Speedway in Epping, NH. Fighting a bleek forecast many teams from all over New England made the trek to the southern New Hampshire speedway.

Practices started off early and had much excitement with many teams having trouble with mechanical problems including Emerson Cayer having a broken steering rack. As the cars rolled through pre race technical inspection teams drew for their heat starting position. Two heat races were held for the 18 mini stocks at Star with the Volkswagens showing the pace. Calvin Rose won the first heat and Loren Smith negotiated the win from the second heat.
