(Stafford Springs, CT)—After a year away from racing at Stafford Speedway,
Norm Sears has returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition at
the Connecticut half-mile, and he is currently at the top of the Limited
Late Model standings after finishes of second and first in the first 2 races
of the season. The fact that Sears and the #71 Kar Kare Collision Center
team are leading the points after 2 races is quite the feat considering how
late Sears and car owner Barry Fluckiger put a deal together to race this
year.

Rocco Scores Thompson Thursday Night Mod Opener

Ramstrom, Gentes, J. Sundeen, Barnett & Field Also Victorious

Thompson, CT: (May 12, 2011) Keith Rocco of Wallingford, CT, held off Ted Christopher to score the victory in the Sunoco Modified feature event to open NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly racing action at Thompson International Speedway. Derek Ramstrom of Worcester, MA, was victorious in the Thursday Night Thompson Thunder Opener for the Super Late Models. Rick Gentes of Woonsocket, RI, was triumphant in Late Model action.

Jay Sundeen of Douglas, MA, wired the field to score the victory in the TIS Modifieds. Larry Barnett of Moosup, CT, the all-time winning most driver in the Limited Sportsman division, added to his tally with a victory on Thursday night. Danny Field of Deep River, CT, was tops in the Mini Stock main event; making it two-in-a-row for the Icebreaker winner.

Johnny “Clark Crushing” the Competition

Well the 2011 PASS racing season has started and Johnny Clark has picked up right were he left off last season, leading the points in the PASS North Series, as he took the checkered flag at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. I asked Johnny about the last 5 laps of the race this is what he had to say, “The last 5 laps was just riding with a decent lead, fingers crossed that we had no more cautions, because the 7 car (Donnie Whitten) was coming!”

NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Tests At Bowman Gray

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (May 11, 2011) — One of the most anticipated test sessions in the recent history of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East took place Wednesday at historic Bowman Gray Stadium.

Eighteen drivers attended the open test session to prepare for the Bowman Gray Stadium 150 on Saturday, June 4. Current points leader Darrell Wallace Jr. was one of eight drivers currently in the top 10 in the season standings to take part, and he was surprised during his first run on the track.
