Waterbury, VT – Colchester, VT’s Scott Payea and Somerville, MA’s Jim Linardy have filed the first official full-season entries for the 2016 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) season, officials announced today. The 13-race, $10,000-to-win ACT Late Model Tour championship chase kicks off Sunday, April 10 with the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway.
Payea returns to the cockpit following a two-year absence and will seek his first ACT Championship behind the wheel of the Rick Paya–owned #37VT Harrison Redi-Mix Dodge. He has five career ACT Late Model Tour wins and finished second in the final standings for three consecutive seasons from 2007 to 2009.
Barre, VT – Excitement is quickly growing for the return of youth Go-Kart racing at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road in 2016. An informational meeting held on Tuesday, January 19 for the Junior Champ Kart division drew attendance and interest from more than 20 youth competitors and their families throughout Vermont and New Hampshire.
“Everyone at the meeting seemed pretty excited about it,” Thunder Road Race Director Cris Michaud said. “People are really interested in the way that we’re doing it. There won’t be any points awarded, so people can just come out and enjoy racing without the pressure of worrying about points. Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officially announced today that the two series have added a fourth doubleheader event to the 2016 schedule. The ACT Late Model Tour will now make a second visit to Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway as part of Oxford 250 Weekend on August 26-28.
The Oxford Plains 100 for the ACT Late Model Tour will be held on Saturday, August 27, the night before the 43rd Oxford 250. The winner of the event will also receive a guaranteed provisional starting spot in the following day’s Oxford 250 for the PASS Super Late Models should they attempt to qualify. The event will count for points towards the $10,000-to-win 2016 ACT Championship and headlines a Saturday program which also includes the Valenti Modified Racing Series, PASS Modifieds, and Northeast Classic Lites.
Southern Modified Racing Series License, Entry Forms, And Purse Structure Announced
CHARLOTTE, NC (January 26) – Officials from the Southern Modified Racing Series Presented By PASS made several major announcements today regarding the 2016 season. The South’s newest Tour-type Modified division will compete 11 times during the year at eight different speedways. 2016 licenses for the Southern Modified Racing Series Presented by PASS are now available and can be found at SouthernModifiedRacingSeries.com. Drivers purchasing licenses for the 2016 season will receive bonus points for each race they are pre-registered for and will also save money towards any events that they enter early. There will also be a $50 discount for drivers that purchase a license early.
Entry forms are also posted at SouthernModifiedRacingSeries.com for the inaugural event for the new series. The Easter Bunny 125 will go green on Saturday night, March 26 at Hickory Motor Speedway, pairing the Southern Modified Racing Series with the PASS South Super Late Models for the first time this season.
