Hudson NH – Ron Lord Jr. won the final Outlaw Sportsman feature of the 2010 racing season on Oct.10 at Hudson International Speedway. Lord was the pole sitter and led from green to checker but it wasn’t an easy win for Lord as he had to fight off the divisions top guns on restart after restart early in the going as there was a bad case of yellow fever in the first half of the race. All the racers settled down by the halfway point and things went green until the end. Sandy Lee was right on Lords bumper the entire race but wasn’t able to make anything happen and came home second. Geoff Rollins finished third followed by Kevin Kephardt, Tom “the Bear Hunter” Tombarello, Pete Fiandaca, Shaun Waites, Matt Robinson, Ronnie Robinson and Pete Jarek. Lord and Lee won the heats. Ray Moses (8) of Canaan won the Late Model event at Big Daddy’s Speedbowl. Ray is the flagman at Big Daddy’s, but took to the track in a car borrowed from Rumney’s Brad Shanks for the special event. (more…)
FONTANA, Calif.—Tony Stewart still needs help to catch NASCAR Sprint Cup points leader Jimmie Johnson, but he jump-started his climb back into contention for the series championship Sunday at Auto Club Speedway.
Stewart beat resilient Clint Bowyer to the finish line by .466 seconds In Sunday’s Pepsi Max 400 to win his first race at the 2-mile track, his second of the year and the 39th of his career.
In sharp contrast to Stewart’s win, which left him 107 points behind third-place finisher and Chase leader Jimmie Johnson, a handful of Chase drivers took big hits in the championship battle. (more…)
Brian Hoar Claims Seventh ACT Tour Title
Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. Dominates Waterford 150
Waterford, CT – Hudson, NH’s Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., a.k.a. Joey Pole, continued his American Canadian Tour hot streak with a dominating win in the final ACT Late Model Tour event of the 2010 season. Pole led 137 laps of the Waterford 150 at Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, CT. The 21 year old has now won his last three ACT events including the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September and the Milk Bowl at Thunder Road last week (Oct. 3).
Williston, VT’s Brian Hoar finished second and claimed his record tying seventh ACT Late Model Tour Championship. Hoar also leads the all-times ACT Late Model Tour wins list with 28 including three during the 2010 season. Hoar was also the only competitor to finish inside the top ten in all 13 Tour events this season. (more…)
