(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with the SK Light Xtra Mart Xtra D program on Friday, July 3rd. Xtra Mart Convenience Stores put up a $500 bonus that was split evenly among the top-5 finishers in the extra distance SK Light feature event. Rowan Pennink scored his fifth win of the season in the SK Modified® feature in what turned out to be a thrilling finish, Tom Fearn also scored win #5 of the season in the Late Model feature, Payton Henry was a first time winner in 2015 by taking the checkered flag in the 25-lap Xtra Mart Xtra D SK Light feature, Justin Bren dominated the Limited Late Model feature for his first win of the season, Tyler Trott scored his third win of 2015 in the DARE Stock feature, and Cory DiMatteo scored his third win of the season in the Legend Cars feature.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 3, 2015 – Staff and patients at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center received a special surprise on July 2: a visit from NASCAR driver Jamie McMurray.
McMurray, driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet SS in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, will be competing in this weekend’s 57th annual Coke Zero 400. McMurray is one of the most successful drivers in Daytona International Speedway history. He has claimed victory in three of the biggest races at the Speedway, winning the 2007 Coke Zero 400, 2010 Daytona 500 and the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona; he is the only driver to have ever won all three races. McMurray also joins racing legends AJ Foyt and Mario Andretti as the only drivers to ever win both the Rolex 24 at Daytona at the Daytona 500. Additionally he is one of three drivers to win both the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 in the same year.

Local driver Jason Corliss continued his resurgence after a tough start to the season by winning the North Country Federal Credit Union Late Model Trophy Dash at Thunder Road on Thursday, June 25.
Corliss started fourth and took the lead from Matt White on lap 29 of the 50-lap event. He then held off a late charge from sophomore competitor Josh Demers to earn his first win of the year and third of his Thunder Road Late Model career.

Barre, VT – Local driver Cody Blake got the jump on a late restart and cruised to his second career Thunder Road Late Model victory in the Aubuchon Hardware Trophy Dash on Thursday, July 2.
Blake was running third when John Donahue, attempting to challenge Boomer Morris for the lead, lost control and hammered the turn 4 wall, flipping on his roof. After a subsequent caution on the first restart attempt, Blake got the break on the second attempt and took home his first victory since 2013.

NAPLES, ME (July 2) – As the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) AIM Recycling Super Late Models Pres. By Kenny U-Pull prepare for their debut this weekend at Loudon’s New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a diverse group of drivers will be front and center in Sunday afternoon’s AIM 60.
While it will be the first time PASS has ever competed at the “Magic Mile”, several drivers hope to be in the starting lineup that have raced at New Hampshire in the past. No one in Sunday’s field will have more experience at Loudon than home state favorite Eddie MacDonald and Plainville, CT’s Teddy Christopher. MacDonald has raced everything at New Hampshire Motor Speedway from ACT Late Models to Cup cars and has been a multiple-time winner in the K&N Pro Series East. Christopher is the leading Modified tour winner at New Hampshire with five wins and will be looking for his first PASS win since Stafford in 2012.
