ACT Oxford Plains 150 Postponed

ACTWaterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Oxford Plains 150 at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME has been postponed due to impending inclement weather. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 25.

The classic championship battle shaping up between New Hampshire veterans Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Joey Polewarczyk Jr. will go on hold until July 25. Helliwell currently holds a 17-point margin over “Joey Pole”, with each driver winning three events so far on the 2015 season.

Packard Eager as ACT Returns to Oxford Plains Speedway

ACTEAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – This weekend marks the return of the American Canadian Tour to Oxford Plains Speedway, and the 18-year old Emily Packard is eager to return to the track. Earlier this season, Packard and her 9ME Northstar Fireworks/Packard Fuels car raced OPS for the first time, and the end results was a fourth place finish. “I liked racing at Oxford, it’s a unique track and different than other tracks we run,” Packard said. “It’s a low breaking track and it has really helped me to calm my breaking, so I can better attack the track. I am definitely looking forward to returning to race there.”

Corliss Back in Victory Lane on North Country Federal Credit Union Night

(Photo by Leif Tillotson)Barre, VT – Local driver Jason Corliss continued his resurgence after a tough start to the season by winning the North Country Federal Credit Union Late Model Trophy Dash at Thunder Road on Thursday, June 25.

Corliss started fourth and took the lead from Matt White on lap 29 of the 50-lap event. He then held off a late charge from sophomore competitor Josh Demers to earn his first win of the year and third of his Thunder Road Late Model career.

DUSTIN LANCASTER BESTS MODIFIED ENDURO FIELD AT 95

tyfgbvcbfDarren Durrell of Newburgh and Andrew Crosby of Hermon led the early laps of the 20 lap Modified Enduro feature at Speedway 95 Wednesday night, but once Dustin Lancaster of Milo came from his 8th place starting spot and took the lead from Crosby on lap 8, the others were left to fight for second on back. Lancaster held the lead to the finish, winning his second feature in as many weeks. Crosby held on to take the second spot with Hampden’s Danielle Beal making a late race charge to finish third, almost catching Crosby in the process. Durrell, the pole sitter in the event, fell to fourth at the finish with outside pole sitter Bob Seger Jr. of Frankfort coming in fifth. Crosby took the win in the qualifier held earlier in the evening.
