The combination event is the 2015 season opener for the Canadian series, and a full contingent of Quebec competitors is expected to make the trek across the border.
Oxford, Maine – Former track champion Timmy Brackett of Buckfield took a first step toward reclaiming the track crown won last season by his son TJ with a 50-lap triumph in the Budweiser Super Late Models, topping the card on Applebees night Saturday at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Brackett started on the front row, outgunned New Hampshire racer Andy Shaw at the start, then fended off several challenges by Peru’s Gary Chiasson to put his NAPA Auto Parts=sponsored car number 60 in victory lane.
KINGSPORT, TN (May 8) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model points leader Zane Smith took the lead from veteran Lee Tissot on lap 47 and led the rest of the way to score the win in the Daniel Boone Classic 125 Friday night at Kingsport Speedway. The win comes in only Smith’s ninth PASS South Super Late Model start and continues a dream season which started with a Speedweeks championship at New Smyrna Speedway back in February.

Xtra Mart Convenience Stores put up a $1,000 bonus that was split evenly among the top-5 finishers in the extra distance Late Model feature event. Michael Bennett recorded his second feature victory of the 2015 season with a thrilling late race pass that saw him beat Adam Gray to the checkered flag by the length of the nose on his car. Other feature winners included Keith Rocco holding off spirited challenges from Justin Bonsignore and Rowan Pennink in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Tony Membrino, Jr. won the SK Light feature, Austin Bessette won the Limited Late Model feature, Tyler Trott was a first time career winner in the DARE Stock feature, and Dana DiMatteo took his second consecutive win in the Legend Cars feature.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (May 8, 2015) – Kasey Kahne came very close to capturing his first pole position of 2015, but will start on the front row in his No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet SS after posting the second-fastest time in qualifying for Saturday night’s SpongeBob SquarePants 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Kansas Speedway. Kahne’s fast lap of 28.138 seconds, 191.911 mph gave him his eighth top-10 start of 2015, and his 10th in 16 races at Kansas Speedway.
A total of seven Chevrolet SS drivers made it to the 12-car field for the final round of qualifying and six will start in the top-10.
