Johnson Celebrate First Win of the Season

sdrsdgdfgdfWinchester—Mother Nature finally eased off after washing out the races the last couple of weeks and graced us with a gorgeous day of racing this past Saturday at Monadnock Speedway.
It was a packed house for Christmas in July. The on-track party where fans donated unwrapped toys and could get up close to meet just about all drivers from the Monadnock weekly divisions and their teams as well as some of the New England Street Stock Tour drivers who were in town as the special guest series was held and it was a great event.

It I hard to believe that this event marked the half way point to the season, but rest assured there is still plenty of edge of your seat racing available for the fans with the points battles starting to take shape and eager drivers looking for their first win of the season.

ANDREW MCLAUGHLIN WINS 95 LATE MODEL FEATURE

fstdydfHarrington’s Andrew McLaughlin won the hotly contested 50 lap Hopkins Landscaping Series feature for the Dysart’s Late Models at Speedway 95 Saturday night after fighting a race long battle with Ryan Deane of Winterport for the win. McLaughlin won the pole for the feature by winning the earlier qualifying race and led from the drop of the green until the race’s only caution flew on lap 17 for a solo spin by D.C. Alexander of Glenburn. On the restart, Deane raced with McLaughlin for the lead, with the two racing side by side and swapping the lead back and forth until McLaughlin took it back on lap 23. Deane didn’t give up on the inside groove, and worked his way past McLaughlin, taking the lead on the 33rd lap. Deane led until lap 44, when McLaughlin passed Deane on the outside to take the lead back again, this time for good. Deane finished in second, with Milo’s Nick Jenkins finishing third, right behind the front two at the finish. Brenton Parritt of Steuben finished fourth, with Wayne Parritt Jr. of Steuben coming in fifth.

WEST HAVEN, VT – Vince Quenneville Jr. is loving his new racecar, and he parked it in victory lane at Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the second week in a row on Friday, July 10. The Brandon, VT veteran won the double-points Rutland Herald Mid-Season Championship event, making it a perfect two-for-two in his new Troyer chassis. Other winners on the night included Robert Bryant Jr., Jimmy Bushey, and Chris LaVair.
Quenneville started last on the field because of his victory in the previous event, but that didn’t slow him down any. A steady climb through traffic brought him to the back bumper of leader Jimmy Ryan by lap 15 of the 35-lap race; he made several attempts at getting by Ryan before finally finding grip in the outside lane and nosing ahead at lap 22. After that, Quenneville was long gone and cruised to his second-straight victory in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series presented by Yandow Sales & Service and John Deere.
