THOMPSON FALLS VICTIM TO RAIN AGAIN

Thompson
THOMPSON, CT. For the third consecutive week, rain has forced the postponement of Thompson Speedway’s Thursday Night Thunder race program. The track will attempt to run the final track points race of the year next Thursday, October 6th.

The amazing string of rainy Thursdays has frustrated racers, fans and track management. However, Thompson Owner and Promoter, Don Hoenig, today expressed his thanks to loyal fans and competitors for their understanding and said that he hopes that we all will get a break in a weather pattern that has targeted Thursdays in New England.

THOMPSON WILL TRY AGAIN NEXT THURSDAY

Thompson

THOMPSON, CT. Rainy weather has once again forced the postponement of Thursday Night Thompson Thunder. The final track points race of the season is now scheduled for Thursday, September 29th.

“This has been very difficult on the competitors and fans alike, said track owner Don Hoenig. But, we want to try once again to settle the four outstanding championship battles within our NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing divisions. These competitors have worked very hard all year long. But, we have had seven events rained out this season and we feel it is only fair to try one more time to let racers settle these championships on the track,” Hoenig concluded. (more…)

WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER TODD SZEGEDY WILL HOPE TO CHANGE HIS LUCK AT STAFFORD IN CARQUEST FALL FINAL

Stafford(Stafford Springs, CT)—When the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour visits
Stafford Motor Speedway, Todd Szegedy is normally among the pre-race
favorites to contend for victory. Szegedy was a regular SK Modified®
competitor at Stafford before moving onto the Whelen Modified Tour and he
has 4 career WMT wins at Stafford. But the 2011 season has been unkind to
Szegedy and the #2 Wisk team in the three races held at Stafford this
season. A crash in the Spring Sizzler in April left him with a 24th place
finish and two spins in the August race left him with a 14th place finish to
go along with a 6th place finish in the May event at Stafford. Szegedy
hopes to have his bad luck at Stafford put behind him when the green flag
falls for the CARQUEST Fall Final 150. (more…)
