STAFFORD SPEEDWAY NOMINATES KEITH HERZIG OF WISHES ON WHEELS FOR BETTY JANE FRANCE HUMANITARIAN AWARD
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway has nominated Keith Herzig
for the NASCAR Foundation’s Inaugural Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award.
Herzig is the Founder and President of Wishes On Wheels, an annual
fund-raiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut. Each year since
2000, Herzig organizes the family friendly Wishes On Wheels Convoy on the
third Sunday in September. To date, Wishes On Wheels has raised in excess
of $670,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of CT. Most recently Herzig was
involved in the CARQUEST Champions For Charities Event held at Stafford
Speedway. He assisted Keith Rocco in raising funds for Make-A-Wish of CT
for the Charity event, and together they raised $4,230 for the Wishes on
Wheels program.

Clark claims win number four after a tough night at the races for many


Thompson CT (7/21) Johnny Clark snatched the lead away from Cassius Clark on a lap 60 restart to capture his fourth PASS North win of 2011 in a wild 100 lap Pro All Stars Series (PASS) National Championship event at Thompson (CT) International Speedway. WOODY PITKAT LOOKING FOR FIRST WIN OF 2011 SEASON IN CARQUEST SK 150 AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY
(Stafford Springs, CT)—When it comes to winning SK Modified® races at
Stafford Speedway, Woody Pitkat certainly knows his way to CARQUEST Victory
Lane with 17 SK Modified wins to his credit since the 2007 season. After
switching to a new car for the 2011 season, Pitkat has yet to find his way
to victory lane this year, although he has posted 7 top-5 finishes in the 9
SK Modified® features run so far this season. Pitkat won the CARQUEST SK
150 in 2008 and he will look to repeat his winning ways and capture his
first victory of the 2011 season in tomorrow night’s 8th Annual CARQUEST SK

(Stafford Springs, CT)—When it comes to the CARQUEST SK 150 at Stafford
Motor Speedway, no driver knows the song of success better than 2006 SK
Modified® track champion Frank Ruocco. Ruocco has won the last two CARQUEST
SK 150’s and he has won three out of the last four 150-lap events at
Stafford. If not for Woody Pitkat coming back from 2 laps down to win the
2008 race in which Ruocco finished second, Ruocco would have four
consecutive CARQUEST SK 150 victories.

PRO ALL STARS AND TOUR-TYPE MODS HEADLINE AT THOMPSON

THOMPSON, CT. An action packed night of racing is on tap for this Thursday at the Thompson International Speedway. The North and South contingents of the Pro All Stars Series will be joined by the very popular Tour-Type Modifieds in a midsummer racing spectacular. These two exciting groups will be joined by five of Thompson’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—On Friday night, July 29th, Stafford Motor Speedway
will welcome the Modified Racing Series back to the track for the completion
of the Inaugural Lincoln Tech 80. The Lincoln Tech MRS 80 was originally
scheduled for June 24th, but a rain shower halted the race with 32 of the
race’s 80 laps complete. The Modified Racing Series will complete their
80-lap feature event and there will be heat and feature races for all five
of Stafford’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions. All rain checks
from the original June 24 date will be honored for this event.
