(Stafford Springs, CT)— Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with The Final Friday Night Shoot-Out, the final Friday night event before the season ending NAPA Fall Final next weekend on October 3-4. Taking down NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly feature wins on the night were Eric Berndt for the first time this season in the SK Modified® feature, Tom Fearn scored his fifth Late Model win in a row and 11th of the season, Joey Ferrigno scored his fifth win of 2015 in the SK Light feature, Paul Arute took down his very first career victory in the Limited Late Model feature, Trace Beyer scored his third win of 2015 in the DARE Stock feature, and Mikey Flynn scored his second win of 2015 in the Legend Cars feature.

THOMPSON, CT – History was made as stock cars took to the road course competitively for the first time at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, as part of the Stock Car Road Race Challenge, presented by SHE Racing.

Roger Turbush set the quickest lap in qualifying in any division, as the Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series driver became the record setter in a stock car on a road course for an Outside the Box Promotions event, posting a lap of 1:23.655. Upon learning of his feat, the Riverhead, NY driver said “It’s unbelievable. It gives you a good feeling that you hold the record right now. I’ve got chills coming to me right now.”

(Stafford Springs, CT)— Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with a First Responders Appreciation Night that recognized Fire, Police, EMS, and all First Responder personnel. Taking down weekly feature wins on the night were Ryan Preece in the SK Modified® feature, Tom Fearn in the Late Model feature, Tony Membrino, Jr. in the SK Light feature, Al Saunders in the Ltd. Late Model feature, Nicole Chambrello in the DARE Stock feature, and Teddy Hodgdon in the Legend Cars feature.

THOMPSON, CT – The Stock Car Road Race Challenge will not only test driver’s ability to negotiate right turns, but the event, taking place on September 11-12 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, will play a large role in the points championships, as well.

Roger Turbush leads Frank Dumicich, Jr. in the Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series standings entering Friday and Saturday’s event. Turbush’s lead is thirty-one points, with four races remaining on the schedule, but none is more intriguing to Turbush than the Stock Car Road Race Challenge (SCRRC).

(Stafford Springs, CT)—The Valenti Modified Racing Series made its final visit of thte 2015 season to Stafford Motor Speedway for the 6th Annual VMRS 80. Chris Pasteryak took the lead from Woody Pitkat on a restart with 20 laps to go and then held Pitkat off to the checkered flag to pick up his 5th VMRS feature win of the 2015 season.

The race began with Dylan Kopec taking the lead from the pole with Norm Wrenn, Rowan Pennink, Todd Szeged, and Keith Rocco making up the top-5. The caution came out with 6 laps complete as Dan Meservey took a spin through the frontstretch infield.
Kopec took the lead back under green and he held the lead until lap-9 when Rowan Pennink moved to the front. Pennink’s time out front was short lived as Todd Szegedy took the lead on lap-12, but his time at the front was even shorter than Pennink’s as Woody Pitkat took over the lead on lap-13. By lap-20, Pitkat was still in the lead with Szegedy in second and Ted Christopher third. Keith Rocco was fourth and Kopec had fallen back to fifth.
