The 2015 season will mark the 75th anniversary of Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, so it is fitting that it would also see the return of historic racing on the 5/8 mile oval, for the first time since 2012. The Historic Oval Invitational will be a two-day event held on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16, 2015.

Monson, MA native Daniel Wesson will make the step up from the karts to the SK Light division where he will race for the record $1,000 R.A.D. Automachine / T/A Engines Rookie of the Year bonus.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—In the short 9 year life span of Stafford’s SK Light Modified division, the track championship has been won three times by a rookie driver. The 2015 season could see a fourth rookie champion in 10 years. Acton, MA native Matt Swanson will look to join Michael Gervais, Jr., Matt Galko, and Jeremy Sorel as rookie champions when he makes his Stafford SK Light debut at the April 24-26 NAPA Spring Sizzler. Swanson is making the move to Stafford after winning the Modified track championship at Star Speedway as a 14-year old this past season.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Just as Stafford Motor Speedway’s 2015 SK Modified® rookie crop is looking to be a great duel for Rookie of the Year honors, Stafford’s SK Light rookie class is also looking to be a blockbuster fight for the top rookie honors. R.A.D. Automachine and T/A Engines are each putting up a $500 bonus for a record total of $1,000 that will go to the top rookie.
Jeremy Sorel was the top SK Light rookie in 2014 and not only was he the top rookie, but he was the third driver in the short history of the SK Light division at Stafford to win the championship as a rookie driver, joining Michael Gervias, Jr. and Matt Galko. With the backgrounds and racing experience that each of the 2015 SK Light rookie class drivers possess, there could be a fourth rookie championship winner.
