Waterford Speedbowl 7/19 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Results
Waterford, CT (July 19, 2014) – Waterford Speedbowl hosted Whelen
Engineering Night Saturday, featuring a six division racing program.
Whelen sponsors NASCAR’s weekly racing series at tracks across the
country. Picking up wins in Whelen All-American Series action included
Kyle James of Ashaway, RI who dominated the SK Modified® feature, Keith
Rocco of Berlin won for the seventh time of the year in the Valenti Auto
Mall Late Models and Josh Galvin of Franklin picked up his eighth Street
Stock victory. Other NASCAR wins went to Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon, who
returned to the winner’s circle in the Mini Stocks and Paul French of
Andover checkered the SK Light Modified race. Mike Christopher Jr. of
Wolcott won another INEX Legend Cars race rounding out the night’s
victors.

Keith Rocco Wins 4TH Annual Lincoln Tech 80 At Stafford Speedway
(Stafford Springs, CT)—The Valenti Modified Racing Series made its second of three visits during the 2014 season to Stafford Motor Speedway for the 4th Annual Lincoln Tech 80. Taking the checkered flag was Keith Rocco, who joined Tommy Barrett, Jr. as the only VMRS drivers to win more than one race at Stafford.
At the drop of the green flag, Rowan Pennink took the lead from the outside pole with Keith Rocco, Todd Szegedy, and Ted Christopher all getting by polesitter Jeff Rocco. Rocco made a move to the inside of Pennink in turns 3+4 to take over the race lead on lap-5. Woody Pitkat was now applying pressure to Jeff Rocco’s bumper in a fight for fifth place. Pitkat was able to make the pass on lap-8.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway’s Late Model division will take center stage on Friday, August 1st as they partake in their 60-lap Xtra Mart Xtra D feature event. There will be plenty of money on the line for Late Model drivers and teams as the race will not only feature a purse of over $6,000, but there will be $1,000 in bonus money up for grabs from Xtra Mart Convenience Stores. Each of the top-5 finishers will each receive a $200 bonus from Xtra Mart and the race will pay $1,125 to the race winner.
There are several long distance aces that will be taking the green flag as part of the Late Model field. Current Late Model points leader Jay Stuart has a 100-lap and a 150-lap win at Stafford to his credit; J.J. Hill has a 100-lap and a 40-lap Xtra D feature win to his name; Jim Peterson has twice won 100-lap Late Model features;, and defending track champion Adam Gray is also the defending Late Model Xtra D race winner although the race was 35 laps last season instead of 60. (Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with Girls Night Out / Mid-Season Stretch program with all 6 divisions of racing going an extra two laps in feature distance. Taking down feature victories were on the night were Ronnie Williams in the SK Modified® feature, Jay Stuart in the Late Model feature, Joey Ferrigno in the RH2Way Going the Extra Mile SK Light Modified feature, Jesse Hinze in the Limited Late Model feature, and Trace Beyer in the DARE Stock feature.
In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature event, Ronnie Williams took the lead from the pole with Joey Cipriano and Keith Rocco right behind him. Matt Galko was fourth, but he lost that spot to Sean Foster on lap-4. Galko was now in a side by side duel with Michael Gervais, Jr. for fifth. Gervais won that battle and up front, Rocco went to the front on lap-6 with a pass in turns 3+4 to move by Williams. (more…)

Waterford, CT (July 5, 2014) – Waterford Speedbowl’s mid-season
championship Overdrive Radio 300 event hit the asphalt Saturday night with
extra distance racing by the track’s core six divisions. The big winner
was Keith Rocco of Berlin, scoring top honors in the night’s 100-lap SK
Modified® main event. Bruce Thomas Jr. of Groton won an entertaining
50-lap Valenti Auto Mall Late Model race, while Old Lyme’s Jeff Smith was
a first-time winner in the SK Light Modifieds after an impressive
performance. Franklin’s Josh Galvin was back in Victory Lane in the
50-lap Street Stock race and Garrett Denton of Hope Valley, RI won his
second consecutive race in the night’s 50-lap Mini Stock event. Mike
Christopher Jr. of Wolcott won his third straight INEX Legend Cars race.

Christopher, Hill, Sorel, Provost, McNeil, & Midford Score June 27 Champions For Charities Feature Wins At Stafford Motor Speedway
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action with the 4th Annual Champions For Charities / SK Light & Ltd. Late Model Xtra Mart Xtra D program. Taking down feature wins on the night were Ted Christopher in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, J.J. Hill in the 30-lap Late Model feature, Jeremy Sorel was a first time career winner in the 25-lap Xtra Mart Xtra D SK Light feature, Duane Provost won for the second time this season in the 25-lap Xtra Mart Xtra D Limited Late Model feature, Bill McNeil was a first time career winner in the 15-lap DARE Stock feature, and Ron Midford, Jr. became a two-time winner of the Champions For Charities Wild Thing Kart feature event. The SK Lights and Ltd. Late Models each split a $500 bonus from Xtra Mart Convenience Stores among the top-5 finishers.
