(Stafford Springs, CT)—With Stafford’s Late Models taking center stage on
Friday, August 19th with the 18th Annual Late Model 100, Late Model points
leader Ryan Posocco will be looking to add another extra distance title to
his resume. Posocco has enjoyed previous success in extra distance events,
winning 100 and 150 lap events in 2003 and winning the 100 lap event again
in 2006, but he has been shut out from victory lane in the extra distance
races since the 2006 victory. Posocco is hungry to once again win the
biggest Late Model race of the season and he is also looking to give his #48
Davidson Company team their first win in an extra distance event as well.

BOBBY SANTOS, III LOOKING TO GET SEASON BACK ON TRACK IN TOWN FAIR TIRE 150 AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY

(Stafford Springs, CT)—After a stellar 2010 season that saw him win 4
races and the Whelen Modified Tour championship, Bobby Santos, III and the
#4 Mystic Missile team have found that the path to defending their
championship has been a rocky road. Santos enters the Town Fair Tire 150 at
Stafford Speedway in 9th place in the points standings, 162 points behind
Ronnie Silk. But if there was ever a track on the 2011 schedule that Santos
and his crew can use as a launching pad to get themselves back into
championship contention, it’s Stafford. Since joining the Mystic Missile
team prior to the start of the 2010 season, in 6 Stafford races Santos has
recorded 3 wins, a second, a third, and a 23rd place finish, which was the
result of a blown engine. (more…)

NASCAR WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR POINTS LEADER RONNIE SILK HOPES FOR REPEAT PERFORMANCE IN TOWN FAIR TIRE 150 AT STAFFORD

NASCAR WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR POINTS LEADER RONNIE SILK HOPES FOR REPEAT PERFORMANCE IN TOWN FAIR TIRE 150 AT STAFFORD

(Stafford Springs, CT)—When the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour last visited
Stafford Motor Speedway back in May, it was a race to remember for Ronnie
Silk and the #6 T.S. Haulers, Inc. team. Silk won the pole and then led all
125 laps to take his first win of the 2011 season. Since that race at
Stafford, Silk hasn’t finished a race lower than fourth and he has the
points lead as the Tour returns to Stafford for the Town Fair Tire 150.
Silk hopes to recreate the level of domination that he exhibited at Stafford
in May and come away from the Town Fair Tire 150 with the winner’s trophy.
“I hope we can do that again,” said Silk. “We’ll be coming back with the
same stuff and we’ll be looking for another win this week. We’ve always
seemed to qualify and run well at Stafford, we just never had the finishes.
The last four races at Stafford, I don’t think we’ve finished lower than
third, so hopefully our luck has turned around at Stafford and we can be
there at the end of the race and try to win again.” (more…)
