Thompson, CT (August 11, 2011): The Late Model division took the center stage at Thompson International Speedway on Thursday Night with their 40-lap extra distance race and Tommy O’Sullivan of Springfield, MA, was the star. Woody Pitkat of Stafford, CT, returned to top-form and to victory lane in the Sunoco Modifieds. Andy Lindeman of Poestenkill, NY, was tops in the touring New England Truck Series. Derek Ramstrom of Worcester, MA scored his fourth win of the season in the Super Late Models.

NEMST – Thompson Recap and results

The North East Mini Stock Tour joined the fastest minis in the region for the 2nd annual Mini Stock Shootout at Thompson International Speedway Thursday night. The tour minis would compete in their own 20 lap points race as well as with the Thompson minis in a 20 lap shootout event.

Twelve NEMST prepared vehicles rolled into the pit area in the sweltering heat for the midweek event. Practice difficulties halted the movement of the 60 and 53 vehicles leaving a ten car field for the Northern style mini stocks.

LATE MODELS GET EXTRA DISTANCE RACE THIS THURSDAY AT THOMPSON

Preece Cops Sunoco Modified Victory Boss Scores #50 in the Extra-Distance TIS Mod Main O’Sullivan Brothers Share Spotlight; Monahan & Baxter Also Score Wins

Thompson, CT (August 4, 2011): Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT, could not be shaken in the Sunoco Modified main event on Thursday night at Thompson International Speedway to score the victory for car owners Al & Cathy Moniz. It was one for the history books for Glenn Boss of Danielson, CT, who scored his fiftieth career win at Thompson in the extra-distance spotlight event for the TIS Modifieds. For the second time this season, the O’Sullivan Brothers of Springfield, MA, shared victory lane at Thompson. Big brother Mike scored the victory in the Super Late Models with Tommy earning top honors in the Late Models. Shawn Monahan of Waterford, CT continued his domination in the Limited Sportsman division with his sixth win of the season. It was a convincing win for Chad Baxter of Pascoag, RI, in the Mini Stocks. Thompson, CT (July 28, 2011): The Mini Stocks took top billing at Thompson Speedway during Thursday Night Thunder with the running of the annual Mini Stock Northern Challenge. Danny Field of Deep River, CT, continued his winning ways in the regular weekly division portion of the Challenge. Mark Panaroni of Ivoryton, CT, scored the victory in the Mini Stock Northern Tour (MSNT) leg of the challenge. Chad Baxter of Pascoag, RI scored one for the ‘home team’ as the overall winner of the Mini Stock Northern Tour Challenge.

THOMPSON, Conn. – Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John, New Brunswick, finished 16th in the PASS North Series PASS 100 at Thompson International Speedway in Thompson, Conn., on Thursday, July 21. Sommerville was racing in third place in the early going when the two leaders got together in front of him, giving him nowhere to go. He retired after completing just 26 laps. The series gets a short turnaround when it heads to Oxford Plains Speedway for the Brackett Mechanical 150 on Saturday, July 23.
