Event to Decide Championship for 2015 Season
Walpole, NH- In a joint announcement, the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) will conclude their 2015 season at New London-Waterford Speedbowl (NLWS) on October 24.
The newly-formed management team at NLWS, including General Manager Shawn Monahan and Racing Director Scott Tapley, with GSPSS President Mike Parks made the agreement to make NLWS the twelfth stop in the fourth full-season for the young touring series. The Waterford, CT raceway joins Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, Claremont Speedway, Star Speedway, Hudson International Speedway, Lee USA Speedway, Speedway 51, Monadnock Speedway, and White Mountain Motorsports Park on the schedule.

Waterford, CT (October 5, 2014) – Waterford Speedbowl saw 210 racecars jam its pit area for Finale Weekend Sunday, hosting 13 race divisions for a huge day of motorsports. After rain forced the cancellation of Saturday’s scheduled events, track management crammed all racing into a full day of action Sunday. Scoring top honors was Keith Rocco of Berlin, who won the 100-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series feature. In NASCAR Whelen All-American Series races, Corey Barry of Plainfield and Garrett Denton of Hope Valley, RI each used a victory to cement track championships in the respective SK Light Modified and Mini Stock divisions. Ed Puleo of Branford won an entertaining SK Modified feature, Jason Palmer won the Valenti Auto Mall Late Model race, and Josh Galvin topped a thrilling Street Stock finish.

The first event takes place this weekend, Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, at Waterford Speedbowl, Waterford, CT. The two-day event sets the stage for another season ending showdown for the title.

Waterford, CT (September 27, 2014) – The final Saturday night race event of the season was held at Waterford Speedbowl with a seven division race program on the card. In NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing Keith Rocco of Berlin won the SK Modified® feature while Jason Palmer, also from Berlin, won the Valenti Auto Mall Late Model race. Ed Gertsch Jr. of East Haven returned to Victory Lane after a long hiatus in the Street Stocks, Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon took the night’s Mini Stock race and Paul Buzel of Trumbull continued a hot streak in the SK Light Modifieds. Mike Christopher Jr. of Wolcott won another INEX Legend Cars feature and set a track record, while Taylor Bowser of Taunton, MA won in the visiting Mini Cup series event. The final event of the year takes place next Saturday and Sunday when the track hosts Finale Weekend headlined by the Valenti Modified Racing Series. A Friday practice session precedes the big event, which sees thirteen race divisions in action.

Waterford, CT (September 20, 2014) – Waterford Speedbowl returned to action after two weeks of wet weather halted its scheduled NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing programs. First time winners for the year were the order of the night as three of the six events saw new faces in the winner’s circle. Diego Monahan of Quaker Hill led the way, picking up the SK Modified® victory in dramatic fashion. Anthony Ryan Jr. of Danbury and Pete Zaikarite of Niantic won the Valenti Auto Mall Late Model and Mini Stock races respectively, joining Monahan as first time winners on the year. Other victories went to Al Stone III of Durham in the Street Stocks, Paul Buzel of Trumbull in the SK Light Modifieds, and Mike Christopher Jr. of Wolcott in an extra-distance INEX Legend Cars race.
