returned to Waterford Speedbowl Saturday evening with a six-division
racing card on track. Hometown driver Rob Janovic Jr. claimed the night’s
SK Modified® victory, his first of the year. Bruce Thomas Jr. of Groton
took his third Valenti Auto Mall Late Model feature win, Josh Galvin of Franklin won for the tenth time in the Street Stocks, and Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon took his sixth Mini Stock win of the year. Brendon Bock of Franklin Square, NY won his first ever Speedbowl feature in the evening’s INEX Legend Cars race and Allen Coates of Ledyard recorded another win in the New England Truck Series at his home track.

Christopher Ends VMRS Winless Streak With Waterford Win

Waterford, CT. – Veteran driver Ted Christopher, of Plainville, Connecticut, put an end to a two-year winless streak when he won
the Valenti Modified Racing Series 100-lap ‘Wings & Wheels’ race
at Waterford (CT) Speedbowl, Saturday, August 9.

Christopher’s last series win was July 29, 2012.

Christopher started outside front row in the 24-car field. Pole sitter Steve Masse, of Bellingham, MA., took the lead at the drop of the green flag with Christopher giving chase over the first 42-laps. When Christopher jumped into the lead, he was never headed.

Waterford Speedbowl Saturday 8/9 Wings & Wheels Results

Waterford, CT (August 9, 2014) – Waterford Speedbowl hosted the seventh
annual Wings & Wheels event Saturday evening in front of a jam packed
grandstand. Fans were treated to some of the fastest and most
sophisticated short track racecars in the country as the International
Supermodified Association made their only visit of the season and was
joined by the popular Valenti Modified Racing Series, Northeastern Midget
Association and NEMA Lites, plus the home track NASCAR Whelen All-American
Series SK Modifieds® and SK Light Modifieds. Ted Christopher of
Plainville ended a long Speedbowl drought dating back to 2004 with his win
in the night’s Valenti Modified Racing Series feature. Mark Sammut of
London, Ontario, Canada checkered the 50-lap ISMA Supermodified race. A
first time winner visited Victory Lane in the SK Modified® in surprise
fashion after an exciting conclusion, with Agawam, MA driver Jeff Gallup
recording the win. Randy Churchill of Oakdale took his third SK Light
Modified win of the year. In NEMA action, John Zych Jr. of Mendon, MA won
the Midget feature and Dan Cugini of Marshfield, MA won the companion NEMA
Lite race.

Waterford, CT (August 7, 2014) – In what has become a summer tradition for
motorsports enthusiasts across the northeast, Waterford Speedbowl hosts
the 7th annual Wings & Wheels event on Saturday. The popular event
combines the electrifying speeds of the fastest asphalt short track racing
machines across the country. Race fans will be treated to the thrill of
open-wheeled racing along with extraordinary speeds at the three-eighths
mile shoreline oval. The International Supermodified Association (ISMA),
Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) and Valenti Modified Racing Series
all make stops on their summer tour, joining the Speedbowl’s own NASCAR
Whelen All-American Series SK Modified® and SK Light Modified divisions
for a unique pairing of race divisions.

Waterford Speedbowl Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday 8/6 Results

Waterford, CT (August 6, 2014) – Waterford Speedbowl was back Wednesday
evening with another Wild ‘n Wacky motorsports program. Four race winners
reached Victory Lane, with Mitch Bombard of Willimantic leading the way
with an extra-distance X-Car victory. Mike Christopher Jr. of Wolcott
continued his dominance in the INEX Legend Cars, Anthony Marvin of
Colchester won the INEX Bandolero feature and Dave Yardley of Berlin
closed the night with a win in the Super X-Cars.
