Brad Babb Takes Point Lead Into Homestretch
Third-Generation Beech Ridge Driver Named ‘Young Gun’ Finalist
Don’t expect Brad Babb to count his proverbial chickens before they are hatched, but don’t expect him to not to have the math all figured out ahead of time, either.
Babb, 19, of Windham, has a 21-point lead in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series standings at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway with just six races remaining. Babb has one win on the season and has finished outside the Top-10 only once in eight starts.

Waterbury, VT – The stars of the American Canadian Tour will kick off the second half of their season this Saturday night, (July 28), at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME for the ACT 150. Dover NH’s Wayne Helliwell, Jr., leads Hudson, NH native Joey Polewarczyk, Jr., and Williston, VT’s Brian Hoar at the midway point as the title hunt remains far from settled.
Polewarczyk comes into the event as one of the hottest racers in the region after dominating the TD Bank 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway last Sunday (July 22). He already found victory lane at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway when he claimed the win in this event two years ago, and will look to add to his increasing momentum.

A whirlwind month of ups and downs culminated with Bobby Timmons III earning his first career NASCAR victory last weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.
The 19-year-old Timmons, of Windham, won the 45-lap Pro Series feature event at Beech Ridge on Saturday night for his first win in the track’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Super Late Model division. Timmons started fifth, rolled to the lead early and then opened up a big advantage to win going away from the rest of the 23-car field.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling,” said Timmons, who is ninth in the overall Pro Series standings, second among rookies. “Part of me was like, ‘It’s about time.’ I knew we had a good enough car to do it. On the other hand, I never would have thought we could do this so soon. I remember being seven years old and sitting in the stands watching Larry Gelinas, Alan Tardiff, David Oliver and those guys win races and championships – and now I went out there and won against them.

Theriault ran as high as second in the first half of the race, got shuffled back in traffic on a mid-race restart, and then moved from 13th to third in the running order over the final 40 laps. After becoming the yougest driver in the race’s history to finish on the podium last year with a third-place finish, Theriault finished third again in just his second career start.

ACT Veteran Pockets One of the Biggest Checks in 250 History
American Canadian Tour star Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, NH dominated the 39th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford (ME) Plains Speedway on Sunday, July 22nd. The ACT veteran wheeled his Ford-powered Pole’s Automotive machine to one of the biggest paydays in Oxford 250 history at $45,500, while leading over 200 laps. Polewarczyk maneuvered through heavy lapped traffic throughout the majority of the event and held off a late race charge from Jeff Taylor and fellow ACT competitor Austin Theriault in second and third respectively.
Polewarczyk jumped out to a commanding lead early from the outside pole and lapped nearly half of the 39-car field before the first caution of the event flew on lap 69. With multiple lap cars cushioning his lead over the rest of the lead lap cars, Polewarczyk quickly stretched out his lead again after returning to green and was a half a track ahead when the second caution of the event came out on lap 135.
