Joey Polewarczyk Jr. joins the ACT Late Model Tour for the second event of the season — the WJAB 150 on Sunday, May 16, at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine. Three of the first five races on the ACT schedule have been rained out, including last week’s event in Plattsburgh, N.Y. After a 12th-place finish in the season opener at Thunder Road International Speedbowl on May 2, Polewarczyk returns to Oxford Plains Speedway — where he’s won two ACT races in his career, including this very event last season. In his last six starts at Oxford, including two TD Bank Oxford 250s, Polewarczyk has two wins and five top-five finishes.

Brent Dragon: ACT Late Model Tour – Oxford Plains Speedway Race Preview

Brent Dragon and the ACT Late Model Tour are ready for the second event of the season — the WJAB 150 on Sunday, May 16, at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine. Three of the first four races on the ACT schedule have been rained out, including last week’s event at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., where Dragon is a 3-time track champion. With more career ACT starts (175) than anyone in the tour’s history, Dragon heads to Oxford where he’s had some measure of success over the last couple of seasons. He won the pole for the prestigious TD Bank Oxford 250 last July — leading nearly 100 laps in the event before finishing sixth — and has finished in the top-10 in each of the last three 250s.

OXFORD, ME – Oxford Plains Speedway is kicking its 60th Anniversary Season in style with a display of race cars in Portland’s Monument Square this Friday, May 14, Speedway Owner Bill Ryan announced today.

“We are happy to be starting another great season and can think of no better way to start than to have race cars on display in Monument Square. We open Sunday, May 16 with the American Canadian Tour and racing fans from all over New England and Canada will make the trip to Oxford to see the most competitive and exciting racing in Maine,” Ryan said.

Staples masters PASS Mods, Martin snares PASS Sportsman win at the Ridge

Chris Staples has seen success in nearly every Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North division; he’s a two time Mod champ, he’s raced up front in the now dormant Outlaw division, and he has a Beech Ridge super late model win to his credit.

Saturday Staples returned to Beech Ridge one year after his first super late model victory, but this time he was back behind the wheel of his PASS Mod. After a year’s hiatus from the PASS Mod ranks, Staples returned to victory lane in the open wheel series lid lifter at the Scarborough Maine speed plant. Staples now has twelve wins in the fast, fun and affordable series.

Mike Rowe scores back –to-front PASS North win at Beech Ridge

Mike Rowe didn’t look like a winner during qualifying for Saturdays’ Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North season opener at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Rowe started the 150 lap super late model feature in the 28th position but the defending Pro Series Champion at the immaculate Scarborough Maine oval picked his way through the field to put his PT Watts Chevrolet on race leader Trevor Sanborn’s back bumper at the half way mark..

Sanborn held Rowe at bay for nearly 50 laps, but the Maine motorsports legend found an opening under Sanborn on lap 120 and led the final 30 laps to capture his sixteenth PASS North Super Late Model feature and two in a row at Beech Ridge. Rowe’s margin of victory was .526 seconds

4-time PASS North Series champion Ben Rowe of Turner, Maine, finished 3rd in the season-opening PASS 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 1. He led on one occasion for a total of nine laps in the Mulkern Racing Community Pharmacies No. 48 Chevrolet, his PASS North debut with his new team and crew chief Seth Holbrook. Team owner Scott Mulkern finished 20th in a second Mulkern Racing car in the event.
