MULKERN RACING: Bobby Timmons Finishes 3rd In Pro Series 100 At Beech Ridge

timmons VL BRMSSCARBOROUGH, Maine – Bobby Timmons III of Windham, Maine, finished a career-best third in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Pro Series 100 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, June 29. Timmons started seventh in his second career start in the marquee event of the season for the Pro Series division, and he patiently logged laps inside the Top-10 until first cracking the Top-5 at the 75-lap mark. He capitalized on a late-race restart to gain much-needed track position and pull out the podium finish. It was the first race in a four-day span for the driver of the Mulkern Racing No. 48 Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep/Timmons Machine Dodge, as Timmons returns to Beech Ridge for the Miller Lite 50 on Tuesday, July 2.

NAUGHTY 40 RACING: McKeage Finishes 6th In Pro Series 100 At Beech Ridge

mckeage sportsmanSCARBOROUGH, Maine – Dan McKeage of Gorham, Maine, finished sixth in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Pro Series 100 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, June 29. McKeage pitted on multiple occasions to make chassis adjustments on the Naughty 40 Racing No. 40 Top Gun Construction Chevrolet and work his way into the Top-10 in the late going. On a final green-white-checkered restart, McKeage got a good restart on the outside lane and was able to fight his way up to sixth at the finish. The team discovered a mechanical issue on the rear end of the car during the post-race, and hope that repairs there will have them back up to speed for the Miller Lite 50 at Beech Ridge on Tuesday, July 2.

6/29/13 Beech Ridge Results

Beech RidgeScarborough, ME – Saturday’s NASCAR Nite Pro Series 100-lap feature event was won by D.J. Shaw, of Center Conway, NH.

Veteran racer Kelly Moore, of Scarborough, led the field to the green flag, but was overtaken by 21-year old Dave Farrington of Jay, the following lap. Farrington led until the first caution flew on lap 26 and regrouped the field back together. On the restart, Farrington and Moore battled side-by-side for three laps until Moore was able to move into the top spot on lap 28.

RENO AND RIPLEY BATTLE IN SPECIAL LATE MODEL FEATURE RACE AT WISCASSET

It was an action packed evening under the bright lights at Wiscasset Speedway last Saturday. Fans filled the bleachers to cheer on their favorite drivers. In addition to its regular lineup of Thunder 4’s, Prostock, Super Stock, and New England 4 Cylinder Prostock, there was also a conclusion to last weeks Late Model Sportsman 45 Lap feature, which had been rained out. There was also a bonus Late Model race on the roster, as well as a flagpole race.

Just three weeks after graduating from Hermon High School, 17 year old Ryan Modery of Hermon found himself in Maine State Lottery Victory Lane at Speedway 95 Saturday night after winning the 40 lap Dysart’s Late Model feature. Modery, last year’s Rookie of the Year in the division, passed Corinth’s Lloyd Nickerson on lap 18 of the caution free event and held Nickerson at bay to the end. Nickerson finished in second, about 2 feet behind Modery, with 2012 division champion Andy Saunders of Ellsworth finishing third despite a broken sway bar on his car. Saunders started 10th on the grid and was in third by lap 20 and gaining on the leaders before his car broke, causing him to only be able to maintain his position. Last week’s winner, John Kalel II of Orrington finished in fourth after starting near the rear of the 16 car field. Harrington’s Andrew McLaughlin finished fifth after starting third on the grid.
