Speedway95TRAVIS BEALE TAKES WILD ROADRUNNER FEATURE AT 95

Hampden’s Travis Beale survived five restarts in the crash-marred 20 lap RoadRunner feature at Speedway 95 Wednesday night, and had to hold off a persistent William McCullough of Kenduskeag to pull off the win. McCullough kept his car right on Beale’s bumper for the entire distance, but was never able to gain the lead, despite opportunities on each restart following a red flag. The red flag flew each time for multiple car wrecks, reducing the 42 car starting field to just 19 running at the finish. McCullough finished second, followed by Bob Seger Jr. of Frankfort in third. Ken Ogden of Seal Cove drove a strong race to finish fourth, with Dixmont driver Rick Gomm finishing fifth. Ogden, Beale and Newburgh’s Dustan Durrell won the three heat races that set the field for the feature event

Zach Audet of Skowhegan passed Hampden’s Danielle Beale on lap 11 of the 20 lap caution free Modified Enduro feature and pulled away from the field to post his fourth win in a row. After battling for the lead with Frankfort’s Dana Wilbur in the early laps of the 50 lap Hopkins Landscaping series feature for the Dysart’s Late Models at Speedway 95 Saturday night, Wayne Parritt of Steuben powered past Wilbur on a lap 21 restart and led the rest of the way to post his second win of the season. Behind Parritt, Dean Smart of Bradley and Joey Doyon of Winterport put on the show of the race with their battle for second and third. Smart held the second position with Doyon on his bumper and at his side for the second half of the race, with Smart taking the second position at the checkers. Doyon took third with Brenton Parritt of Steuben finishing fourth. Wilbur held on for a fifth place finish. These results are unofficial as Doyon’s motor was pulled in post race inspection after some of the engine seals were found to be broken. A further inspection of the motor will be conducted to determine it’s eligibility for competition in the division.

Shane Tatro of Levant led from the green to the checkers in the Darling’s Ford Sportsman division, with Rookie Trey Brown of Winterport taking the second spot when Steve Kimball of Holden was forced to pit with a flat tire. Ralph Melanson of Corinth finished in third, after recovering from an early race spin that brought out the only caution in the 25 lap race.
