Speedway 95 remembered a fallen friend Saturday night, August 21st with the running of the Allen Fletcher Memorial Duel 23’s.

In the first Dysart’s Late Model 23-lap shoot out there were two cautions. The first came at lap six, when three cars spun out, Dave St. Clair of Liberty, Doug Day, Sr. of Glenburn, and Bobby Seger, Jr. of Frankfort. The second caution flag flew at lap twenty, when Joey Doyon of Winterport lost control in turn-four. When the race resumed, Josh St. Clair of Liberty, and Ryan Deane of Winterport traded the top spot until lap 14 when St. Clair pulled away, and held the lead for the remainder of the race. JOSH ST CLAIR WINS AGAIN IN 95 LATE MODELS

JOSH ST CLAIR WINS AGAIN IN 95 LATE MODELS

Josh St. Clair of Liberty is emerging as the man to beat in the Dysart’s Late Models at Speedway 95, as he is always up front and more often than not the winner if he finishes a race. Saturday night was no exception as St. Clair drove from his 11th place starting position to the front, taking the lead away from Hermon’s Dale Swoboda on the 29th lap of the 35 lap event. St. Clair was aided by one caution that bunched the field up, but he also had to be patient, as he sat behind a battle for position between Dean Smart of Bradley and Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs, as they went side by side for what were the fourth and fifth positions at the time. Once Seekins finally got by Smart, St. Clair took to the bottom groove and moved past Shane Clark of Winterport, then leader Dale Swoboda. Swoboda later failed an engine compression test in post-race inspection and was disqualified, placing Clark in the second finishing spot. Seekins beat Smart in the battle for what turned out to be the third spot, with Smart finishing in fourth. Bangor’s Doug Day was fifth. (more…)

JOSH ST. CLAIR TAKES LATE MODEL SQUEAKER AT SPEEDWAY 95

A lap 28 spin by Jason Witts of Dixmont turned a choo-choo- train Late Model race into a seven lap shoot out with the top ten drivers jockeying for positions as they raced to the finish. Josh St. Clair of Liberty had led from the drop of the green, through a restart on lap 3, until the caution flew for Witts’ spin. On the restart, Ryan Deane of Winterport, who had been following St. Clair while fighting off a persistent threat from Steuben’s Brenton Parritt, out gunned St. Clair and took the lead for two laps. St. Clair went to the bottom and worked his way back past Deane, retaking the lead on lap 30. It wasn’t easy for St. Clair from there though, as Parritt followed him past Deane and challenged him for the lead over the last three laps. (more…)
