RENO PUTS AN END TO LUCAS’S WINNING STREAK AT WISCASSET!

Last Saturday was warm and sunny, a perfect day at Wiscasset Speedway. Fans gathered to watch the Group two classes in some racing action. Divisions included: Strictly Street, Outlaw Mini, Late Model Sportsman, Modified, and the flex race of the week were the Amsoil Nelcar Legends.

First on the track was the Spotlighted feature of the weekend, the Strictly Street division. Twelve racecars competed in an action packed thirty-five lap event. Starting at the pole was the #8X of Ethan Dinsmore. Beside him was the #03 of Maurice Young. In third was Cody Verrill in the #11. When green flag racing began, the #51 of Kyle Hewins passed Young on the inside for third. Kyle Hewins continued up the track on the inside and passed Young on turn one during lap two.

WISCASSET SPEEDWAY CELBRATES ITS 46TH BIRTHDAY

Wiscasset Speedway celebrated its forty-sixth birthday last Saturday night. The evening was presented by Maine State Bureau of Highway Safety. Drivers from past and present had gathered to help celebrate the day and participated in a driver recognition ceremony during intermission. Champions’ Night drivers included Ed Pierpont, Steve Pierpont, Vern Hodgkins, Dale Chadbourne, Adam Chadbourne, Dan Trask, Scott Chubbuck, Mike Delaney, Nick Hinkley, Brett Mank, Gave Gabrey, Mike Moody, Alan Moeller Sr, Jeff Burgess, Steve Reny, Kamren Knowles, Maurice Young, Daryl Cook, Scott Delano, Jeff Jackson, Eddie Bellows, Casey Nash, Neil Reny, and Chester Rice.

MCLAUGHLIN IS SIXTH DIFFERENT LATE MODEL WINNER AT WISCASSET SPEEDWAY

agsdgsdgdDrivers and fans alike gathered at Maine’s fastest oval on Saturday night to celebrate the 4th of July holiday and Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of the checkered flag. Group 2 divisions were in action with Modifieds, Strictly Streets, Outlaw Minis, and Late Model Sportsman. The flex race of the night was the Amsoil Nelcar Legends. The show ended with a fireworks display for the fans.

JIMMY CHILDS “OUTLAW MINI MADNESS” CHAMP AT WISCASSET

gdfbcvgSaturday was “Outlaw Mini Madness” at Wiscasset Speedway. Competitors from as far away as Florida came to participate in the seventy-five lap race. The group two division of racing was also on the agenda, featuring Late Model Sportsman, Strictly Streets, and Modified.

First on the track for the feature races were the Late Model Sportsman in a thirty-five lap event. Starting at the pole was the #00 of Alex Waltz. Beside him was the #6 of Chris Bowie. Behind was Tyler Robbins of the #34. When green flag racing began, Waltz sped ahead for the lead. Bowie fought back, and edged ahead of Waltz on the back stretch during lap one for the lead. Tyler Robbins took second coming out of turn four during lap four.

A visit from NEMA Midgets and NEMA LITES packed the grandstands Saturday night. It was the Ames True Value Supply “NEMA Night”. The evening’s jam-packed schedule included two NEMA races and the Group 1 division: New England Four Cylinder Prostock, Prostock, Thunder 4’s, and NAPA Super Streets. The fans were able to go onto the track at 5:00 PM to meet with the drivers, get autographs, receive hero cards, and even to sit in the NEMA racecars.

NEMA club president, Russell Stoehr said, “This is a great facility, the fans are awesome and are very nice to us. We love coming up here this time of year and putting on a show for you guys. I hope to be coming back next year, all signs point to us coming back every year. This is the one of the most positive fan experiences we have all year long.”
