Valenti Modified Series Ready For Monadnock Spring Dash

Canaan, NH. — The April tradition of the Valenti Modified Racing Series appearing at
Monadnock Speedway, Winchester, (NH) continues Saturday night, April 30, when the
popular touring division, now in it’s eighth year, invades the Monadnock Speedway,
Winchester, (NH), for the running of the “Spring Dash 100.” The annual event is the
second of a 17-race schedule for New England’s premier modified series.

Christopher Flies South For SoBo Win

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – Ted Christopher traveled south to Virginia early Sunday morning and picked up a NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour victory in the South Boston 150 in the afternoon at South Boston Speedway.

Christopher outdueled George Brunnhoelzl III, who won the first two Whelen Southern Modified Tour events in 2011, to earn yet another win in his storied career. Christopher, who won the season-opening Icebreaker last weekend in Thompson, Conn., on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, collected his fifth career win on the southern tour.

Veteran Racer Goes Back to Victory Lane in Prelude to PASS South Super Late Model 300-Lap Feature

North Wilkesboro NC (4/10) Modifieds made their return to the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway (NC) as part of the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South presented by JE Pistons and Roush Yates Performance Products “THE RACE” event on Sunday, April 10th. After Jimmy Zacharias dominated the first half of the 100-lap event, veteran Modified driver Junior Miller drove his car to victory lane, taking the win in the prelude race to THE RACE.

Zacharias got the jump on the 11-car field at the drop of the green flag, driving off from the field with Miller working his way to second. A few laps later, John Markovic moved his way to third, then to second with Jason Myers working his way to third. (more…)

Breaks own track mark in qualifying for NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour opener

THOMPSON, Conn. (April 9, 2011) — Defending champion Bobby Santos shows no sign of slowing down. In fact, the Franklin, Mass., driver is getting faster.

Santos broke his own track record in qualifying Saturday for Sunday’s Icebreaker, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour opener at Thompson International Speedway. Santos posted a lap of 18.237 seconds (123.376 mph) around the .625-mile oval for his fifth career Coors Light Pole Award.

Santos also posted the fastest lap in Saturday morning’s practice for the Icebreaker. He is the defending race winner, too.

International Speedway on April 10, longtime car owner Bob Garbarino will be in a position with which he has become familiar in recent seasons: defending champion.
