Carmody Ford has joined the growing roster of sponsorship partners at Devil’s Bowl Speedway and has agreed to present an all-new event at the West Haven, VT stock car track on Friday, June 14. The Greenwich, NY dealership will be the title sponsor of the inaugural “Carmody Ford Slate Valley 100” for the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) in the tour’s first-ever trip to a Vermont speedway.
Located at the intersection of Routes 29 and 40 in Greenwich, NY, Carmody Ford is a rapidly-expanding, full-line dealer of new and pre-owned Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs. Carmody Ford has just completed a facility expansion to accommodate its steadily-growing service area and is currently undergoing a major overhaul of its showroom and offices. Spring is here and soon Southwest NH’s Monadnock Speedway will be bustling with competitors and fans witnessing the best of the Northeast racing talent that New England has to offer. The traditional Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash 100 will kick off the season featuring one of three events for the Valenti Modified Racing Series on Saturday, April 20th. The special event will also highlight the 2013 debut of the veterans and rookies in the NASCAR premiere division of the Sportsman Modifieds plus Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Thunder Stocks, Lightning Stocks and Young Guns. All the action will start at 5pm.
The management of Monadnock Speedway anticipates this season to be a successful one as many new competitors will be calling the Monadnock Speedway their new home. The 2013 schedule also offers a variety of racing series venues including the ever-growing Granite State Pro Stock Series and the return of Northeast Midget who have not competed in the last two years at the speedway. Local NASCAR stock car drivers and their high-speed racing machines are flocking to the Diamond Run Mall in Rutland, VT for the 12th Annual Rutland Regional Race Car Show. The popular event will be held on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 and will showcase racers from around the region, including competitors from Devil’s Bowl Speedway in nearby West Haven, VT.
As many as a dozen NASCAR Whelen All-American Series drivers and cars are expected to represent Devil’s Bowl Speedway at the event including Bond Auto Parts Modified racers Jeff Haskins of Wells, VT and Cody Sargen of Greenfield Center, NY, rookie Late Model drivers Josh Masterson of Bristol, VT and Seth Bridge of Mendon, VT, and two-division star Hunter Bates of Middlebury, VT. Devil’s Bowl Speedway will also have a display booth with information about the 2013 racing season.
he Rutland Regional Race Car Show will be open on Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.and Sunday, March 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.While admission is free, all attendees are encouraged to make a donation to the March For Babies charity; donation details will be available during the event. American Canadian Tour officials have announced that the Inaugural ACT International 500 to be held at Airborne Speedway on the weekend of July 20/21 will exceed a total purse of $140,000, making it the richest event in ACT’s 28-year history.
Airborne Speedway Promoter Mike Perrotte can’t wait to get the weekend started.
“I’m extremely excited to have a race of this magnitude here. It will be without a doubt the biggest event ever held at Airborne Speedway,” said Perrotte. “It’s a big boost to our community. Fans from all over will get to watch more than 500 laps of exciting short track racing from teams all over New England, New York, Rhode Island, Quebec and Ontario. It’s going to be a huge event.”
American Canadian Tour teams on both sides of the border are fired up for a chance at the enormous payday. 8-time American Canadian Tour Champion Brian Hoar and his team see it as a shot at history. (more…)

The Lee USA Speedway will be presenting its Annual Car Show in the Lilac Mall in Rochester, NH. The show will run from Friday, March 15th through Sunday, March 17th and will feature cars from all four of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions competing at Lee USA Speedway on a weekly basis as well as many of the touring series that will visit the speedway over the course of the season. Lee USA’s small block supermodifieds, late model sportsman, hobby stocks, and iron man will be on display as well as representatives of the Valenti Modified Series, the Northeast Mini Stock Tour, the Northeast Midget Association(NEMA), ACT Tour and the Classic Lites.
Set-up for the Lilac Mall show will be on Thursday evening March 14 at 9 p.m. The mall will be open for viewing from 9 a.m. thru 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. thru 5 p.m. on Sunday. Lee USA Speedway officials will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday for competitors wishing to register their cars for the upcoming season or to gain any additional information they may need. People’s United Bank will usher in the summer stock car racing season at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT for the second year in a row. The 171 year-old, New England-based financial institution will present the People’s United Bank Memorial Day Special to begin the 2013 Friday night NASCAR Whelen All-American Series schedule on Friday, May 24 at 7:00pm. The headline Bond Auto Parts Modified division will run twin 25-lap features as part of a full card of racing that also includes a holiday fireworks show.
Veteran New York state drivers Leon Gonyo and Ron Proctor each scored in last year’s People’s United Bank Memorial Day Special twin Modified features. Proctor’s victory was the first of a three-win campaign that led to his second-straight Devil’s Bowl Speedway and NASCAR Vermont State Championships. Proctor will return in search of a three-peat, but is expected to be challenged by the likes of Brandon, VT’s Vince Quenneville, Jr., Hunter Bates of Middlebury, VT, Alex Bell of Cambridge, NY, and 2012 Rookie of the Year Joey Roberts of Georgia, VT.
