Lee, N.H. — The 2011 season for the Valenti Modified Racing Series will draw to a close this weekend, October 22 & 23, when the New England based touring division travels to Lee USA Speedway, Lee, NH., for the 25th annual “Oktoberfest” weekend.
The season ending event will decide the series championship between title contenders, Chris Pasteryak, of Lisbon, CT., and Les Hinckley III, of Windsor Locks, CT. 27 points separate the two drivers.

Perley Dominates ISMA Season-Finale; R. Stoehr Tops in NEMA
Preece, Ramstrom & Hutchings Also World Series Winners
Thompson, CT (October 16, 2011): The 38th Annual World Series of Speedway Racing culminated on Sunday with five feature events. The headlining Whelen Modified Tour ended their season in dramatic fashion with Glenn Reen of Wilbraham, MA, scoring a career-first. Chris Perley of Rowley, MA, turned in a dominating performance in the International Super Modifed Association (ISMA) 50-lapper to score the victory. Russ Stoehr of Lakeville, MA, scored top honors in the Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) ranks.

Johnny Clark claims his sixth PASS North title



Oxford ME (10/15) Scott Mulkern roared from the back of a 34 car field to claim the lead and the win in Saturday’s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North 150 at Oxford (ME) Plains Speedway. Travis Benjamin led much of the way but had to settle for the runner up spot, and DJ Shaw raced home third in the PASS North season finale, cut short at lap 118 due to rain.
Joey Pole and Brian Hoar led the field to the green and Pole jumped out front early. Hoar took over from laps 29 through 70 but Benjamin was rumbling up through the field and he wrestled the lead away from Hoar on lap 70.

Scott Mulkern Wins PASS North Season Finale
Veteran Super Late Model Driver Snaps 7-Year Drought
OXFORD, Maine – Scott Mulkern of Falmouth, Maine, led the final 15 laps en route to his second career PASS North Series win with a victory in the season-ending PASS Championship 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday.
The race was called by rain after 118 laps. Two unsuccessful attempts were made by series officials to dry the track before the win was granted to Mulkern and the No. 84 Southern Maine Motors/Community Pharmacies Dodge.

THE STORY
FALMOUTH, Maine – Mulkern Racing will field a two-car effort as the PASS North Series puts the final touches on the 2011 season with the rain-delayed PASS Championship 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, October 15. Lonnie Sommerville sits second in the overall PASS North standings heading into the final race of the year, while team owner Scott Mulkern will make his fifth start of the season. Sommerville, who will lock up the Rookie of the Year title with the start on Saturday, finished second to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Busch when the series last visited Oxford Plains in July, while Mulkern posted a season-best finish of second in his last outing – in the PASS 300 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway last month.

THE STORY
Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, joins the PASS North Series for the rain-delayed 2011 season finale, the PASS Championship 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, October 15. Doiron finished 10th in his last outing at Oxford in July, part of a stretch that has seen the former Rookie of the Year post Top-10 finishes in four of his last five starts. Despite running fewer races than the rest of the PASS North Series regulars as he focused on part-time competition this season, Doiron has already clinched a Top-10 finish in the overall standings in his sophomore year.
