DAVE ETHERIDGE LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARK CYCLE 80 MRS RACE AT STAFFORD SPEEDWAY

(Stafford Springs, CT)—When the Modified Racing Series made their first
visit of the 2011 season to Stafford in June, Dave Etheridge had one of the
strongest cars and looked to be a contender for victory. Then the rain
forced the race to be resumed in August and Etheridge fought his way to a
10th place finish. When the MRS comes back to Stafford next Friday night,
Sept. 9 for the Shark Cycle 80, Etheridge will be looking to repeat his June
performance and be a contender for the checkered flag.

Hudson Race report for sunday sept 4th 201211

Hudson N.H. –Jay “the driver formerly known as The Battering Ram” Maki ran a flawless race in the thirty lap Outlaw main this past Sunday to pull down his second win of the 2011 racing season. Maki started fifth on the starting grid and by the fifth lap was going three-wide on the outside to pass Todd Warren who was running in first place and Ron Lord who had been in second trying to pass Warren. BARRE, Vt. – Brent Dragon of Milton, Vt., battled front end damage to finish 14th in the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Sunday, September 4. Dragon qualified well in his heat race and grabbed the 3rd starting position for the feature. At the halfway point of the race, Dragon’s car became very loose, which was corrected by a trip to the pits for new tires. Dragon was well inside the Top-10 when contact caused front end damage, making the car very tight. Dragon will now look to the Quebec doubleheader weekend where he hopes to keep learning more for next season.

LEE USA SPEEDWAY RACE RESULTS Sept. 2nd

Lee, NH – The chase for the 2011 championships continued at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, with Tony Carroll taking down the win in the Benson Lumber and Hardware-sponsored NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Small Block Supermodified feature event.

Carroll was running the main event in memory of his car owner, Paul Brown, who had passed away earlier in the week after a lengthy battle with illness. The extra motivation was just what the doctor ordered, as Carroll went flag to flag to score his first win of the year.

SOUTH PLATTSBURGH – Airborne Speedway promoter Mike Perrotte will join the fray Sunday, September 11 in the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Syracuse Qualifier for DIRTcar Modifieds. The Charley Trombley 100-lap Big Block/Small Block Challenge, which pays $3,000 to win, is named in honor of the late multi-time Airborne champion from Mooers Forks.
