Austin Theriault: Oxford Plains Speedway
Oxford Championship Series Race Report
OXFORD, Maine – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, finished 15th in the Oxford Championship Series 40-lap Late Model event at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, July 2. Despite finishing fifth in his first-round heat race, Oxford’s handicapping system dictated that Theriault would start deep in the 30-car field in 21st. Without the benefit of a caution flag in event, Theriault had to pick his way through traffic on his way to the 15th-place finish in a tuneup for the TD Bank Oxford 250 in three weeks. (more…)

CANAAN, N.H. – Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John, New Brunswick, rallied for a hard-fought fifth-place finish in the PASS North Series Firecracker 150 at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H., on Saturday, July 2. McKay Builders/Community Pharmacies Chevrolet. Sommerville, who posted his third Top-5 in five races this season in the Mulkern Racing entry, led a total of nine laps on the night. He never dropped lower than sixth in the running order and used a couple of late restarts to crack the Top-5 in his first-ever visit to Canaan. (more…)

For most drivers, getting sent to the rear of the field would end any chance of picking up a win at Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway. However, most drivers don’t have the history Ted Christopher has at the track. Christopher was sent to the rear of the field at the start of the race from his pole position after missing the driver’s meeting, and then had to come through the field again after getting involved in a spin on Lap 66, but it didn’t stop the Plainville, Conn., driver from picking up his second consecutive NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win at the .625-mile oval in his home state.
