Barre, VT – Thunder Road has announced the first annual Thunder Road Home Run Derby scheduled as part of “Kid’s Day” during the Harvest Equipment program on Sunday, June 19.
Kids ages 12 and under who wear a baseball hat or shirt to Thunder Road this Sunday, May 29 and on Sunday, June 12 will be able to sign up for the Home Run Derby drawing at the announcer’s tower. During intermission of the Sunday, June 12 event six (6) names will be drawn randomly. (more…)
Thompson, CT: (May 26, 2011) On the 71st anniversary of its first race, Thompson International Speedway hosted 95 race cars in the 6 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions. Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT scored his first career Sunoco Modified victory. Chris “Moose” Douton took a borrowed ride to victory lane in the extra-distance Limited Sportsman event. Larry Gelinas posted his first victory of the season in Super Late Model action.
John Materas of Voluntown, CT continued his early season success with his second win of the year in the Late Models. Cam McDermott of Scituate, RI earned his first win of the year in the TIS Modifieds. Danny Field of Deep River, CT notched his third win on the season in the Mini Stocks. (more…)

THE STORY
Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, enters NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition when he races in the season-opening event for the Pro Series division at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, May 28. Doiron, who has a career-best PASS North Series finish of fourth at the track in 2010, has never competed in a 40-lap weekly event at the track. It will be his second time out this season with a car that made its 2011 debut at North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Wilkesboro, N.C., early last month. (more…)

night at Stafford, Keith Rocco’s #88 Wheeler’s Auto team has had his car
repaired and it will be back on track this Friday night with Rocco behind
the wheel. Rocco and his crew will take the car to Thompson tonight to
practice and make sure that there are no further issues before they hit the

Waterbury, VT – Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl fans will see lots of talent during the twin 100 lap events at the Mekkelsen Memorial Day Classic Twin 100’s on Sunday, May 29, 2011.
