Portland, Maine – A new foundation dedicated to keep young drivers alive on the highway hopes to get off to a fast start at the 18th annual Racin’ Preview 2011, this Friday and Saturday at the Portland Expo, next to Hadlock Field in Portland.
Save Speed 4 The Track (SS4TT) is made up of a group of volunteers who are motivated to keep young drivers alive and help them to explore safer places to fill their need for speed. Their goal is to connect young people with their local race tracks and drivers to learn the difference between a vehicle built for the street and one built for the race track.

Busch Sport Scene Publisher George Campbell will be signing copies of his new book, Busch North Scene: A Ten Year Retrospective at the Racin’ Preview 2011 show this weekend at the Portland Expo in Portland, Maine.
The Busch North Scene book was released in late November with a book launch that was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in auburn, Maine. Since then the book has been a very popular seller among race fans from the New England region. The “Ten Year Retrospective” book recaps the racers, teams and events that shaped the NASCAR Busch North Series during the 2000 decade. The book has fun and informative personal reflections from George and Busch North Scene staff members, as well as many of the personalities that made the series popular in the decade.

Relay Racers: Drivers To Help Raise Money For American Cancer Society At Racin’ Preview Show
PORTLAND, Maine — Drivers with stock car racing ties to Maine will turn a new corner this weekend at Racin’ Preview 2011.
Nine drivers, including four-time PASS North Series champion Ben Rowe of Turner, Maine, will sign autographs at the American Cancer Society’s “Relay For Life” booth during the two-day motorsports show at the Portland Expo, Feb. 25-26.

Mike Rowe’s ‘Quick 5’ to debut at Racin’ Preview 2011
Portland, Maine — Mike Rowe, certain to become an MVRCA and NEAR Hall of Famer when he finally hangs up the helmet, is arguably the most successful racer in the history of Oxford Plains Speedway.
Rowe is the reigning Maine State champion for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, a crown he’s earned the past two seasons after scaling back his racing efforts a bit. He’s also earned touring series championships with the former ACT Pro Stock Tour and, more recently, PASS Super Late Model championships on both the South Series and National Championship Series.

Portland, Maine – Honoring the short track racing history of Maine and Northern New England has always been an important part of the annual Racin’ Preview 2011 show in Portland, Maine. Visitors to this year’s 18th edition of the popular pre-season stock car racing celebration, set for Friday and Saturday, February 25-26, will find Vintage Row displays bigger and better than ever.
