By Lou Modestino
The stretch drive of Thunder Road’s weekly racing season continues this Thursday night, August 13 with U.S. Army Recruiting Night. With just four point-counting events remaining on the 2015 Thunder Road racing calendar, it’s “go time” in the championship battles for the Thunder Road Late Models, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks.
The famed Bond Auto Tiger Sportsman division will take the stage on Thursday night. Thunder Road officials have announced the Tiger Sportsmen will run twin 50-lap Milk Bowl–style features. The finish of the first 50-lap feature will be inverted to set the starting line-up for the second feature. The driver with the best combined finish in the two features will be the overall winner.

-In what has been a hotly contested championship fight during the first half of the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, defending series champion Doug Coby is primed to kick off the second half of the year in the Call Before You Dig 150 at his home track of Stafford Motor Speedway.
Coby has been among the championship contenders all season long following his season opening victory at Thompson, but a mid-race crash at New Hampshire two weeks ago left the #2 Dunleavy Truck & Trailer Repair team facing a hole to climb out of to get back into championship contention. Coby and the #2 team did just that at the next series race at Monadnock, scoring the win and leading the most laps for a max points day. Coby now heads to Stafford for the Call Before You Dig 150 looking to pick up another win at a track where he has recorded 6 of his 15 career NWMT victories.

Bryan Kruczek of Newmarket, New Hampshire raced to his second AIM Recycling USA Super Late Model victory of the season in Sunday’s HP Hood PASS North 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Kruczek started the race from 21st position and methodically worked his way into contention, taking the lead away from Mike Hopkins of Hermon, in what was Hopkins best run to date with the Pro All Stars Series premiere Northeastern class. Kruczek was on cruise control for the final one-quarter of the race, crossing the line almost four seconds ahead of the competition aboard his Ouellette Associates #00.

A Tale of Two Cities: Rollins, Tanguay Eye Home Track from Different Views
A Look Ahead to “Friday Night Lights” at Lee USA Speedway
LEE, NH – As the North East Street Stock Tour returns to Lee USA Speedway for “Friday Night Lights”, presented by the Gobbi Corporation, on July 31, two drivers look to the event from different ends of the spectrum.
Geoff Rollins is in mid-stride, after picking up the win in the Christmas in July event at Monadnock Speedway on July 11, and looks to continue his success at another of his home tracks, Lee USA Speedway. Rollins is currently second in points in the Late Model Sportsman at the track, and finished second in the exhibition event for the North East Street Stock Tour (NESST), back in May.
Rollins will be running his familiar orange #02 car in his return home, and is confident in the change, saying “We are piloting our own car that’s orange and has a 02, and anything orange goes faster. I have won a 50 lapper here with this car. We put this new car together in two weeks, but it doesn’t scare me at all.”
