Johnson Celebrate First Win of the Season

sdrsdgdfgdfWinchester—Mother Nature finally eased off after washing out the races the last couple of weeks and graced us with a gorgeous day of racing this past Saturday at Monadnock Speedway.
It was a packed house for Christmas in July. The on-track party where fans donated unwrapped toys and could get up close to meet just about all drivers from the Monadnock weekly divisions and their teams as well as some of the New England Street Stock Tour drivers who were in town as the special guest series was held and it was a great event.

Geoff Rollins Defends Home Turf, Becomes Third Different Winner on North East Street Stock Tour

Geoff Rollins (33), Joe Arena (74), and Anthony Belfiore (90) at Monadnock SpeedwayWINCHESTER, NH – Geoff Rollins passed Joe Arena on a restart on lap 8, and never looked back, powering to the victory in the Christmas in July event at Monadnock Speedway.

Rollins used the outside groove on an early race restart on lap 8, when Charlestown, NH driver Bryan Town’s rear-end expired, bringing out the caution. Rollins would fend off challenges from Chris Douton and Arena on five other restarts, the final one on lap 38, setting up a green-white-checker finish. Rollins jumped ahead, as Mike Palin spun on the final lap, collecting Armand Cote, ending the race under caution.

Monadnock Speedway

MonadnockWinchester—This weekend Monadnock Speedway’s run of good weather came to an end, but not before some racing happened down on the track. This weekend, the NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites were in town as well as the NE Racing Trucks.

Prior to the commencement of the heats, the Iron Mike Scrivani Memorial Ceremony was held down on the track remembering the former NEMA stalwart and father of NEMA President and supporter, Mike Scrivani Jr.

Thirty-six Modifieds from various series and tours descended upon the ¼ mile track at Monadnock Speedway for the “Riverside Reunion 100” Presented by – NorthEast Race Cars Tri Track Open Modified Series.

Winchester—After weather postponed action at Monadnock Speedway last week, the engines were fired up once again this past Saturday for some high intensity action around the quarter-mile oval on Memorial Day Weekend.

With everyone eager to get back out on the racetrack, there was full card of excitement as they rolled out eight feature series including the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, NE Vintage Outlaws, and Granite State Pro Stock Series 100 lap feature.
After some action packed heat races got the crowd warmed up, the features rolled out with the Vintage Outlaws leading the way. It took him until five laps remained to make the winning pass, but Paul Laplante was able to cross the line in first place to pick up his fifth straight victory at Monadnock Speedway.
“We love the sport of racing,” Laplante said, “We want to give back to the fans.”
