This week, ACT Late Model teams across the northeast held their breath hoping for the call: an invitation to the 4th Annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 22. No one may have been more satisfied than Vermont teen sensation Emily Packard.
“We were so on edge, I got the call in school today and I’ve been shaking ever since,” said Packard out of breath. “I am so excited about racing up there. We were so happy with the Test ‘N Tune, I’ve been telling my crew ‘We have to go to Loudon’ since the winter,” she finished.
Packard and her family team can finally be at ease, as she received one of 11 final invites. The news couldn’t have been any sweeter for the first year Late Model driver. (more…)
12 more invitations were extended to ACT teams for one of the biggest racing events of the fall: The 4th Annual Bond Auto ACT Invitational. Invited teams will take part in a 50-lap event on the big stage at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 22 on the weekend of NASCAR’s Sylvania 300.
The first of this installment of invites will go to past Invitational winner Eddie MacDonald, of Rowley, MA, who has recorded two victories in the first three events. MacDonald will be an early favorite to win, but he will now face stout challenges from Oxford Plains Speedway 2012 Champion Shawn Martin, as well as nine-time Oxford Plains Champion Jeff Taylor. Top ACT veterans Glen Luce of Maine and NH’s Randy Potter will join the prestigious list, ACT rookie sensation Jimmy Hebert will cut his teeth in the event, and multi-time Twin State Champion Guy Caron will be added to the starting grid. Ten More Teams Invited to Bond Auto ACT Invitational
ACT officials have announced invitations 11-20 for the Bond Auto ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 22. These ten teams have earned their invites through their performance in either the American Canadian Tour or Série ACT Castrol.

Rhode Island’s Ray Parent, who currently sits inside the top ten in ACT points, has earned his second invite to the Invitational in his two years on the Tour. 7-time American Canadian Tour Champion Jean Paul Cyr, and Vermont’s Jamie Fisher, as well as Scott Dragon piloting the Richard Green Racing #16NY have gained entry to the 50 lap event. Quebec star Dany Trepanier, who sits sixth in the Série ACT Castrol, will take his shot seeking to be the first Canadian to win the Invitiational. (more…)
MANCHESTER, Maine – Reid Lanpher admits he just wanted a good finish on the road course at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, an oddity on the NELCAR Legends Tour with its high-speed test of right- and left-hand turns.
The 14-year-old Manchester, Maine, driver ended up making history – winning the second road course event of the season at New Hampshire back in May, becoming both the youngest winner in NELCAR history and the youngest race winner ever at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in the process.
“To win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway was a pretty big deal. It was really cool,” Lanpher said. “There was over a 24-car field that day, and some of the guys on that Tour have been doing this for 15 years. To run with those guys – let alone win – was a pretty big deal for me.
“I went into that race willing to settle for Top-5. About halfway through, I was like, ‘Wow. I can win this.’ I wasn’t expecting it at all.”
It was only the beginning of a year that has seen Lanpher post a pair of victories, seven Top-5 finishes and nine Top-10s in the No. 59 EJP/Mission Trailers Chevrolet. He’s won at Unity Raceway and is within shouting distance of 10th in the overall NELCAR standings – despite being sidelined for all 10 races at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway due to the track’s minimum age requirement for competition.
