(Winchester, NH) – Coming in to Monadnock Speedway as the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) point leader was not really on the mind of 18 year-old, Hudson, NH native Derek Griffith. This particular race; the John Boy Hoyt 100 (JBH 100) means more than just points for the drivers of the fledgling GSPSS. This annual event is held in memory for GSPSS Co-Founder John Hoyt.

Hoyt is credited as one of the architects of the series and as Series President Mike Parks frequently mentions, there would be no GSPSS, if it had not been for Hoyt. After his untimely death in 2011, the series moved to honor Hoyt with a memorial race. (more…)

WINCHESTER, NH – Matt Frahm took advantage of a tangle between the first and second place cars, inheriting the lead on lap 31, and powering to the victory in the JBH 100 at Monadnock Speedway.

Adam Norton took advantage of his pole position starting spot, as the Ludlow, MA driver would lead the first quarter of the race. A chain reaction incident on lap 24 would send Derek Griffith careening into turn one, damaging the spoiler of his automobile. Norton would hold off Frahm on two consecutive restarts, before Mike O’Sullivan joined the mix, getting under Norton and battling for the lead. On lap 31, O’Sullivan and Norton spun in turn four, sending both cars to the back of the pack.
