Epping, NH – Joe Lemay returned to his winning ways in the All-Star Modifieds on Saturday night, holding off a tough challenge from Eric Hudson to collect his third checkered flag of the 2009 season.
Lemay quickly worked his way past polesitter Dana Smith to grab the lead, with Smith setting into the second spot in the early going. Kenny White and Eric Hudson both managed to get past Smith by halfway, but neither of them had anything for Lemay.
Hudson eventually worked past White for second, and he moved in to challenge Lemay at the five to go mark. Hudson looked high and low, but Lemay was up to the challenge, holding on for the win and a trip to victory lane at the end of the 40-lapper.
Hudson’s recent win streak in the Newmarket Sand and Gravel machine was stopped at three straight with his runner-up finish, and White collected third place honors ahead of Smith and Bobby MacArthur.
John Bourdelais made his 2009 debut in the Super Streets a memorable one; as he led the feature from flag-to-flag to pick up his first win of the season in his Lawrence Crankshaft-powered machine.
Bourdelais’ victory was made even sweeter when he was joined on the post-race podium by teammates Rob DeAlmeida and Tony Kawejsza, who finished second and third. Rosebud Shea and Steve “Pinball” Wilmot wrapped up the top five.
Mike Williams continued his hot streak in the Strictly Stock feature event, bringing the Mike White entry to victory lane after his third consecutive win.
Williams and Steve Dubois battled hard for a dozen laps before Williams settled into the lead, and it was all over from there. Williams pulled away to easily score the win, with runner-up Dubois and Johnny Gervais joining the victor for the post-race victory lane celebration.
Ken McIlvaine, a longtime competitor with many wins in Strictly Stock and Roadrunner competition at All-Star, added another trophy to his collection with his first win of the year in the Outlaw Mini Stocks over Bruce Knowles and Gary Stagliola.
Jason Hodgdon didn’t lead much of the Fast-4 feature, but he lead the lap that counted, grabbing his first career win in the feature event at the checkers. Ken Mailhot beat out nephew Tyler to finish in the second spot.

Epping, NH – Another action-packed night of racing action hit the high banks of All-Star Speedway on Saturday night, and Eric Hudson continued his hot streak, collecting his third consecutive feature win in the 40-lap All-Star Modified main event.
When the green flag waved, Hudson wasted little time making his way to the front, with J.R. Baril hanging tough in the second spot over the first half of the race. Joe Lemay had moved in to challenge Baril for second, but a lap 17 spin sent him to the rear.
Kenny White, Jr. took up the challenge next, while leader Hudson continued to stretch it out. At the checkers, it was Hudson and the Newmarket Sand and Gravel machine out front by several car lengths to score the win.
Baril held on to post a solid runner-up finish, with White grabbing the third spot in his first start of the year. Lemay recovered from his mid-race spin for fourth, followed by Rusty Ball, Bobby MacArthur, Dana Smith, Sumner Scott, and Norm Forrest.
Grant Aither of nearby Exeter made his first appearance of the year count in the Super Street main, as he outclassed the field to collect his first career All-Star win. Sparky MacIver made a late-race pass to collect second-place honors, with Rob DeAlmeida third.
Just a week after Cindy Sevigny posted a win in the Fast-4’s, Amanda Victoria became the second female winner of the 2009 season after an entertaining run in the Outlaw Mini Stock feature.
Victoria had her hands full with the hard-charging Ricky Porter, but she held on to win by a car length to collect the winner’s hardware. Bruce Knowles scored third in his first All-Star run of the year, followed by Sevigny, Ralph Sanborn, Gary West, and Ken McIlvaine.
In the first of two features for the Fast-4’sit was Greg Cummings and Josh Hodgdon running out front for the first 15 laps. The pair got tangled up while fighting for the lead, and Jason Poisson took the high line past them both to grab the point.
Two laps later, Joey Fernandez got out of shape in turn two, collecting “Uncle Dana” Sullivan’s VW hard as he tried to get past. With the right front corner of his racer badly damaged, Sullivan was done for the night.
Poisson picked up the lead once again on the restart, and went the distance to score his second win of the year. Ken Mailhot, Tyler Mailhot, Hodgdon, Gary West, Cory Sullivan, Cummings, Fernandez, Sevigny, and Dana Sullivan were second through tenth.
Ken Mailhot stepped it up in the second race, holding off a late-race challenge from Poisson, who was looking to double up for the night. Mailhot picked up his second win of the year, with Poisson, Tyler Mailhot, Cummings, and Sevigny the rest of the top five.
Mike Williams dominated the twin Strictly Stock features, nailing down both wins aboard the Mike White entry.
In the first race, Williams battled side-by-side with Stephen Dubois for the first three laps before moving to the front, and he stayed there for the rest of the 25-lapper. Mark Parenteau, Dubois, Rosebud Shea, and Ricky Porter finished up the top five.
The second time around, it was Shea leading the first several laps, but in the end, it was once again Williams leading them to the checkers. Shea, Parenteau, Dubois, and Porter were second through fifth.
