Gonyaw Celebrate First Victory of the Season
By Staff Writer Dan Byrne
Winchester—After weather postponed action at Monadnock Speedway last week, the engines were fired up once again this past Saturday for some high intensity action around the quarter-mile oval on Memorial Day Weekend.
With everyone eager to get back out on the racetrack, there was full card of excitement as they rolled out eight feature series including the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, NE Vintage Outlaws, and Granite State Pro Stock Series 100 lap feature.
After some action packed heat races got the crowd warmed up, the features rolled out with the Vintage Outlaws leading the way. It took him until five laps remained to make the winning pass, but Paul Laplante was able to cross the line in first place to pick up his fifth straight victory at Monadnock Speedway.
“We love the sport of racing,” Laplante said, “We want to give back to the fans.”

Veterans Top NEMST at Lee USA
On what was the most beautiful day of 2015 so far 23 NEMST minis packed the infield of Lee USA Speedway for the 2nd annual Bull Ring Bash. Practice early in the day revealed that Tim Collins was the fastest car at the speedway for the 3rd event of the NEMST Season. Tim was joined by 2014 champion Toby Wells and Matt Sonnhalter at the top of the leaderboards.
Collins started at the rear of the first heat race and had his work cut out for him to earn heat points by finishing in the top 5. Collins thundered through the field diving low, shooting high, and running 3 wide to make his way to the front. On lap 7 he took the lead from Louis Maher and walked to the Environmental Engines victory. Toby Wells ran hard in the 2nd heat starting mid pack and making his way to the front passing 2011 Champion Rob Greenleaf on his way to the Environmental Engines Heat Race win. Collins drew an invert of 1 row for the feature as the lineup was set.

Douton Makes History at Lee USA Speedway
Waterford, CT Driver Victorious at Inaugural Event
LEE, NH – Chris “Moose” Douton made history by winning the inaugural North East Street Stock Tour event at Lee USA Speedway, fending off Geoff Rollins at his home track.
Rollins and Douton started on the pole for the 35-lap feature event, and quickly flexed their muscles, pulling away from the pack, before a spin on lap 4 brought out the caution flag, when Anthony Belfiore lost grip off turn 2. Douton and Rollins flipped positions on the grid for the restart, and Douton put his Stebbens Discount Stump Grinding/A-1 Auto Center Ford Thunderbird to the front, opening up a gap between the first and second spots.
